Maybe he needs to go through waivers to go down to Rochester? I'm not sure.

Well I'm happy to say I was wrong about Taffe. I believe the bet I made was to not a say a negative thing about the Panthers for 2 months. Starts today.

He has to clear waivers before he can be sent to Rochester.

Precisely - he's being demoted because the Panthers' intent was for him to be a veteran leader for Rochester anyway. I'm sure he knows that - but they've likely also promised him a call up or two if needed. Unless he'd have to pass waivers again, in which case that won't happen either.

What exactly was the bet? Did you think he was going to make the Panthers? (Serious question)

Looking forward to no negative comments toward the Panthers

I think Duco just stole any chance Taffe had at making the Panthers.

It wasn't that far fetched an idea. With Matthias' horrible season last year, Duco as a giant question mark, and Repik on the bubble, it was quite reasonable to expect Taffe to stick as a 4th liner with us.

There were quite a few articles talking him up, as well, talking about how hard he was working and that he REALLY wanted to make the big club this year. But I guess that was all just lip service?

Agreed...so much for him making the big team...

Hmm thats 1 down....1 to go until we only have 12 forwards on the roster. Some smart dude predicted that a few threads back

This obviously means he didn't make the big team...

That means Duco, Repik, and Matthias are left. Which means that a rookie will be in the 13th forward spot, smart dude.

I'll spell it out for you:

Booth, Weiss, Frolik, Horton, Stillman, Reinprecht, Olesz, Dvorak, Campbell, Kreps, (Tarnasky), Matthias, Repik, Duco.

Repik had a bad game last night against Tappara. Really no punch to his game.

Yeah of course I meant last night. It really surprised me how uninspiring the bubble players were. You'd think they'd try there best.

I'm assuming you meant last night since we've saw what he can do last season while he was up?

I would have loved to see the Panther claim Cody McCormick and send Repik back down (yes partly because I'm an Amerks fans). But I think McCormick is a good 4th liner who can play and add grit and would help the team out. But I guess they are going with Duco.

I would have liked McCormick here.

Much rather see what Repik can do.

As I said in the other thread...we will see. I predict one of the three get sent down, and then another might after Nasty comes back from his injury. In the end our lineup will be something like:

Booth-Weiss-Horton
Stillman-Reino-Frolik
Olesz-Soupy-Dvo
Nasty-Kreps-Duco or Kreps-Matthias-Nasty

that would mean only 1 stays up here permanently. The other one will play in the A and be called up at will when injuries take place.

But again we will see

I'm happy to have Repik here, but I would have liked McCormick on some front. He's no heavyweight, but he's a decent fighter.
