I think claiming Jones is s pretty high risk move. He is expensive, is coming off of an injury, and is no more than a 3rd pairing guyI. can't imagine Howson claiming Jones
Doesn't Philly have to pay half of his contract if we take him? He only got pushed out of Philly because of his salary, but remember that Philly has one of the best defences in the league this year. I would like to see Jones here. I also don't think he would be a fringe healthy scratch, but consistantly in the lineup

I think recent moves have pretty much made any chance of doing this moot...but I too would have liked him in Union Blue

That's reentry only.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
With Stralman in our top 6 Methot will be the 7th dman so we don't really need guys like Jones, Lashoff, or whoever is on waivers. Unless it's someone special of course.

In his chat, today, Portzline suggested that Stralman might take time away from Russell, rather than Methot. Not sure I buy that, but it's certainly possible. Fits with what hashmarks has been saying, too, by the way.

Stralman won't see his first practice with the jackets until friday so other than the Tyutin/Klesla thing, we are still up in the air. It wouldn't surprise me to see the exact same pairings that we had for most of last year (when Rusty was healthy) until Stralman gets comfy with the system.

We'll see on friday how he looks I guess.
I wasn't expecting to see Stralman until the Calgary game. Maybe even LA. If he was a veteran, throw him in. But I'm thinking we'll want to get him in a few practices (not much of that on road trips) and some time in the special teams meetings.

See these.
Discussion from here has turned to Stralman's impact on Methot/Russell. There is a thread/are threads for those.
Jones? Case closed.
