Why would we trade for him?

Who would we trade for him?

It is being talked about because it was a rumor that once existed in the Canadian media and now he is likely gone from Montreal. I highly doubt our organization is showing any interest at all.

I figure this is as good of a place to talk about this as any. When I read that "rumor" the first thing I thought was Is Hammond going to shoot this down. Then I remembered today is Hammond last day on Teh Blog.
I wonder how these rumors are going to be addressed going forward. Hammond has had some damn quick rebuttals from Lombardi in the past , but what if there is some validity to a future rumor?

You never know. I can see Dean making a deal, but only upon the strict understanding that SKost spend the ENTIRE season with Manchester. That is, unless his play there is so astronomical that the Kings are forced to recall him.

His attitude needs adjusting, but it may only be a symptom of youth.

Unless we're talking about Cloutier or Blake, Dean generally knows best.

Asset-wise, who or what would the Kings be willing to part with to get him? Mid-level draft picks, career minor leaguers, what?

Zeiler?

Where is this supposed rumor emanating from? It doesn't make sense to me considering how the Kings dealt with immature babies in the past who pouted about being demoted, had piss poor attitudes and threatened to pack their bags and go home (Pushkarev and Tukonen).

I don't buy that rumor but hasn't that account broke a handful of trades/signings this summer?

Que Montreal fans for the never ending Frolov for S. kostitsyn threads.

DL may have some interest but only at a severely reduced price. Guy really hasn't proven anything except having ties to crime syndicates. Does not compute with DLs character philosophy.

I think they broke one and claimed they broke like 30 others that they really didn't break

I wouldn't mind SKost one bit. Where are these rumors of an attitude coming from? He could make for a decent 3rd line LW.

SKost for Holloway and a 6th

Rumors?

He's refused to report to assignments twice. Hardly a rumor.

You don't refuse to do what your club tells you to do unless you have a 'tude.

Where have I been? Missed that part. Surprising though because all I read about him previously suggests he's got a lot of maturity for his age.

He's got entitlement issues. Wouldn't shock me to see him and his brother moved together.

They said on HNIC Radio that the last time he refused to get sent down he took some parting shots at French players on the Montreal roster he thought deserved to be sent down but weren't because they were French Canadian. Sounds like he needs a change of scenerey. If you're complaining about too many Frenchys on the Montreal team you're doomed. This could be one of those purgatory trades where Montreal trades him to the worst possible scenario for a show of power.

With the legal mess... that would be Phoenix.

My guess is, they'll keep him suspended for awhile to "teach him a lesson". If they are able to trade him, I bet they only get a pick for him (and 3rd or lower at that). He's had issues since his first year in Montreal. He had a great season that first year and since thinks he should be given everything. Since then he has been sub par.

According to Eklund we are in the running for Kostitsyn. Here is an interview he did with Yahoo! Sports this morning:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...urn=nhl,193677

In there he says:

Quote:
And then you were informed that you'd be sent to the AHL.

Yes. And I can't understand why.

But you refused to report to the AHL.

Yes, I called my agent right away to tell him I wouldn't go there.

Why?

Because I know how I can play. I don't know why I was sent there in the first place. I played alright during the pre-season. I don't know why I was sent there, that's why I didn't go.

So, you don't see your future with Montreal anymore?

I don't think so.
Who in their right mind thinks Dean Lombardi will be interested in this guy? How does this guy make a living? I wanna see Eklund's paycheck, because I think I am in the wrong field. All I need is a dart board and a computer.

Lombardi wouldn't take a chance on Heatley who's a malcontent. At least he would have reported and played for the Sens. There is no way Kostitsyn gets traded to LA unless he comes with a 1st round pick and with future considerations going the other way.

Brendan Shanahan is on waivers. http://tsn.ca/blogs/?id=293969

Let the rumor mill turning commence. We won't claim him obviously, but it is interesting to think about who will claim him and if he will actually go there or just retire.

Loved Shanny in his earlier years but honestly, I have no idea who would be interested in him now.

As for Frolov rumors:

Frolov rumors are still live and well. No particulars are mentioned just that there are a lot of chatter.

If it's going to get done, I'd wish they'd hurry up and get'er done already.
