I would like to try this:

Cammalleri - Gomez - A.Kost
Latendresse - Plekanec - Gionta
Moen - Metropolit - Lapierre
Laraque - Chipchura - Stewart

Pacioretty is clearly not ready, so send him down to the minors.

oh internet though guy who's obviously not biased at all...

In the NHL Chipchura as proven zero as of yet, zero. 14pts in 49 games and he's not 19yrs old anymore, he's almost 24.

At best he might one day be a steady 4th line center getting around 25-30 pts...at best.

You're using stats as an argument against a defensive center??

Well I hope Chipchura was not drafted 1st round 18th overall because they thought we could be a fine 3rd/4th line C...please.

And there are numerous defensive center that actually can put up numbers (like Lapierre for us) in the NHL. Chipchura had a very good junior career and seems to do pretty decent in the AHL but as for being a effective NHLer he's not there yet. I'd take Maxwell before him anytime.

Don't get me wrong he's a good kid but he's nothing exciting.

At best a 3rd line center in the future, if given the opportunity.
Given the way Metropolit has played in the pre-season and against Toronto, the only way he'll get a spot in the lineup is if he plays the wing.

Hmmm. I'm pretty sure that you're extremely happy when you're 18th pick overall becomes a solid 3rd liner. I don't know in what fantasy world there are 18 top line players entering the NHL every year.

my opinion about the future of kyle chipchura can be expressed with one single word : Hamilton ...no ...not the formula 1 career ....the AHL team...

edit: wouldnt fit in a f1 anyways.
Aren't you being a little melodramatic there. It's pretty rare that a penalty taken half way through the 2nd period should be what "cost us the game" had we lost.

Chipchura has no place on the team. Lapierre is better offensively, Metro is better all around, and Chips is horrible at faceoffs. He could be tried as a third line winger, but I think he's worth more packaged with Sergei and a pick for something tasty.

any stupid penalty has the same value in my mind... the one you take in the 1rst, 2nd, or 3rd period ...

That actually doesn't look that bad. I would like to see that happen

Chipchura has been nothing but professional throughout his career. Personally, I was shocked when he was sent down a couple years ago. I didn't feel he was a hindrance to the club. His faceoffs needed work but he was not given the latitude that Lats and Laps were given, and I blame Carbo for that.

He's gone up and down, never griped once to the media and done all that's been asked. If SK had this kind of attitude we'd be a much better organization. I hope he gets a chance, whether at centre or on the wing.

For those of you that hack on him, think hard about the character of the man.

I'd like to see him on wing on the fourth line.

The little-big line
Pac-Pleks-Kost
Lats-Laps-Moen
Chips-Metro-BGL

lol @ short forms

Pacioretty is clearly not ready after 1 game, yet Lats gets a promotion after a godawful performance?

Where's the consistency?

I didn't know which comment to quote but this one is a good example. With a few exceptions this board has become almost entirely devoid of any rational discussion. Most of the time it sounds like a bunch of guys sitting around and throwing insults after a few too many beers.

Unfortunately the comments of the good posters get so diluted with this trash that it is hardly worth reading... thanks to Whitesnake, Marc, Montreal, McPhee and the other sane members that I have failed to quote.

chipchura is a very responsible player with loads of character, poise and hockey sense. he alleviates alot of pressure off the defense by backchecking hard and is above average in protecting the puck along the boards.

his main weakness is his skating. we all know that and its what's preventing him from locking down a regular spot.

i'd much prefer him in a 3rd/4th line position than d'ago simply because chips is defensively superior. d'ago needs more time to develop his game and, imo, should be sent down.
