They should have semi-naked wax Sakic there so everyone can feel his presence.

The people getting the most worked up about this are the people calling other people petty for worrying so much about it.

For what it is worth (and its worth alot) Sakic did not want this 'honour'.

Typical of Sakic, he doesnt want all the attention. You could tell when he was starting his speech, he was basically cutting off the fans from giving him too much of a prolonged ovation.

I have no doubt that Sakic is embarssed as all hell to have his stall 'enshrined in glass for as long as the Avalanche play at the Pepsi Centre'.

So if Pepsi ever loses the naming rights to the arena, will they have to break into the locker and replace the aquafina with fiji or something?

You would do yourself good to educate yourself on the history of hockey in Denver.

I realize that stereotypes are a huge timesaver, however.

Now if that's not a "can't do attitude", I don't know what is. The Little Engine that Could is ashamed of you.

I dont think this is healthy for team dynamics, and future team leaders will be somewhat undermined if they are no where close to Sakic in terms of leadship effectiveness.

So, as a Canucks fan I am all for the Avs doing this.

I heard O'Reilly say he was next to it during an interview, but according to that picture, the helmet says #55 which would be Cody McLoed.

They don't? When the Lightning got one, I thought they were behind the curve then.

Edit: Andreychuk, not Sakic. That'd make no sense. lol

Why the glass is what I'm confused about. The reserved stall thing is a pretty cool idea, but encased in glass?

That would be a nice little fun think for him.
That would be awesome though.

It's going to be used for rookie orientation. Survive a day in Joe's glass contained stall and you're part of the team. The gear in there is not washed. The temperature kept to a nice 95 degree with bottled Joe sweat sprinkled on it daily. That isn't aquafina in there.

I want to see an emergency skate issue late in a Game 7 where someone has to break into the glass to get those skates to finish the game. Hahaha!
