"Howdy, Y'all" - 10.3.09 - Nashville @ Dallas

Pretty bare-bones GDT since there are no stats for either team yet. I have to post it a few hours ahead of time, since I have to travel at this time of night and wouldn't be able to post it until tomorrow afternoon otherwise.

Tootoo is OUT with a groin injury. Belak will take his spot on the fourth line...

Groin injury seems to be a common problem .

Warren Peters -face, out ... What happened? Puck? Sideboards? Goon punch? Or just an ugly dude?

Edit: Maroon story...

I wonder when this Ellis plays against Dallas stuff will run dry... Didn't he get shelled by them last year?

I changed my mind that if he wins he'll start the home opener. Unless he plays great, I doubt Trotz wants to sit Pekke so long. Next Thursday will already be a long time to sit.

The Preds are not my team, but after reading the all season predictions that say the team will finish dead last, I'm hoping to see this club surprise.

Here's to showing the league that you can win without big free agents.
Good Luck in Dallas!

Considering they finished 3 pts out last year and that's without Steve Sullivan for much of the year, i'll take anyone's bet that they finish in last.

I've seen them as high as 6th (some guy on NHL live on XM radio), low as 11th. But dead last?

Anyhow, ua seless prediction - Preds 4-Stars 2, Erat notches the first goal of the season for the Preds.

Much appreciated.

I'm going to go with a 5-2 Predators win. Legwand scores the first goal and also gets the game winner.

YES, hockey is back. I predict 3-2 win, Sullivan with the first goal of the year, and Ellis will be dominant.

Trotz was interviewed on NHL Live this morning and said that Ellis would be starting. Apparently, mentioned "they didn't want him, so he has something to prove" as part of the reasoning. I know Dan takes that seriously and combined with his preseason performance, I think we'll see some solid goaltending tonight...

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

3-1 Preds.

And of course I can't watch the game because I have to be at Miami's hockey game and go skating with the lady...

But I will be following the text updates the entire night.

He has a fractured orbital bone from a pre-season fight with Crombeen. Apparently someone didn't tell him that you aren't supposed to try to stop someone's fist with your face.
Here's to a good game

I really wish Laakso would wear a different number... I still get nervous when I see that 4 on the ice.

Wow, pretty controlled game so far. Ellis is looking good. Only time will tell. Still more hockey to go!
