More important than a 0-2 hole lol is establishing a high level of play on home ice. We need to win at an 85% rate at home this year. The Garden if used properly can shake and deter other teams and their players.

Combine that with a 50% road win team, then we'd be at 41x.85=34.85 and 41x.5= 20.5 We would have around 55 wins. Ok that's a bit much haha, I don't think we'll win that many at home and away. More like 70% at home and 40% on the road so 28.7+16.4= 45.5 games. Now that's closer to what we'll get.

Anyways, LGR!! Let's blow them out and have Gabby rack up 2-3 goals! And hopefully at least get 2PP goals to get the ball on the road for the PP.

Might listen to the radio feed for this, Gianonne + Michelliti (yes I suck at spelling) is just deadly.

Back-to-back or not, it's the home opener and only the 2nd game of the season. He better be starting!

I would assume so. Goalies play back to back games. It's early in the season so he does not need the rest. Lundqvist starts.

There's one thing i am afraid that may be apparent all season long. And will be our down fall.

It's not our rookie defense.

It's not our all out attack style.

It's not a lack of size...

... It's that we don't have that elite one-two punch up front that all Cup contenders have.

We have Gaborik. That's the one.

We need another elite offensive threat.

We have one guy that if teams key in on, we don't have another real threat on the next line.

What makes the Pens a threat is that one shift they'll send Crosby out, and even if you manage to shut him down, the next shift Malkin comes out.

We need that other threat.

However, I would NOT be willing to trade away what it would take to get that other threat. Not willing to trade our top young players or prospects.

But next summer, if Kovalchuk hits the market, do what ever it takes to get him here.

Just my thoughts.

I do like the make up of this team, though, but i am afraid it will not have the extra _____ to push us to the next level this year.

He is, though if it were up to me, he would never start double-headers. No reason to do so. Just let him stay fresh for later in the season.

Some of you are really underestimating the sens for some reason. On paper they have a very good team.

Lundy will start

I think Torts was being vague just so he doesn't have to anwser that question every night.

Gaborik needs two goals tonight, Dubi needs one.

I hope Brashear can bounce back and have a decent fight with Neil. I'm starting to think old Brash has lost a step.

Chances are Brash will fight Carkner, not Neil. Carkner is Ottawa's new heavy.

Brash has lost a step for sure. The guy is 37 and has been top guy for 10 years. He has a lot of mileage on that body. We will miss Orr by Nov.

If Dubi meshes well with (a healthy) Gabby, he'll have a great season. 20-25 goals, 45-50 assists is definitely possible. Getting 70 points out of from a player who does everything - defense, hit, faceoffs, etc - would be amazing.

Getting 60 from him should be a minimum if he spends the whole year on the first line with a superstar. Anything less would disappoint me. This is not the same as when Gomez and Drury were ahead of him. With more ice time and better linemates, I'd like to see a similar performance to what he showed when he played with Jagr, but better because he's now 23, not 21.

Orr may surpass Brash in the fighting department but Brash is the better hockey player. Brashear generated more offensive pressure yesterday in 6 minutes of ice time than Orr did in his entire Ranger career. I like Colton as much as the next guy but let's be honest, Donald is leaps and bounds ahead of Colt when it comes to playing hockey.
