Really disappointed by A.Kost
He had 2 good shifts and all the others were just awful.

Better game for Lapierre too.

Not overly impressed by Spacek so far.
He looks like a guy who's coming back from an injury.

The powerplay was painful to watch but I'll give credit to the Sabres, they were excellent on the PK tonight, constantly applying pressure on the puck handler.
The guy was a horse tonight...not sure what more you expect...he was awesome imo.

Yeah he has looked bad at times so far, but it has more to do with chemistry rather than the type of player he is. If he was a turnover machine Lou would not have kept him in NJ too long.

Well Sabres fan got a taste of what it felt like losing to them in the mid '90's when they were dominated and Hasek was saving their ***** night after night.

And Gionta's goal was not lucky, it did not just magically deflected on him he batted it in. quite impressive actually.

4. Very Devils-like win, from great goaltending, to flooding the neutral zone, to 2 former Devils creating the winning goal.

5. I would have taken a 2-3 road trip to start the year with Markov healthy, so it's all gravy on this road trip going forward.

6. So does anyone still wonder why we signed Moen and not Kostopoulos?
Awesome post....You know hockey and so do I.

With 7 new elements on the roster, the team has to gel together... Did you actually expect cohesion and stellar chemestry as early in the season? Coming from you, it wouldn't surprise me.

Haven't been the prettiest first two games but at the end of the day, you take the points when you aren't playing your best and you don't have your best player.

Price has been unreal to start. Its the pre-All star break Price of last year, might be even be better.

Where are those people questioning Moen in preseason?

Gomez while not bad, was just average. Need much more out of him. Same goes for Cammelleri.

Really really really disappointed in Laps and Lats. There boardwork has been non existent so far.

The big positives are Price, Pleks, Gionta and Moen and the fact everyone else can and need to play much better. Only a few are playing up to par so there is lots of room for improvement.

And Mara. I am somewhat impressed. Goes by unnoticed, not making glaring mistakes like most of the defenseman have so far. Honestly, might be Montreal best defenseman the first two games.

Gutty effort from Hammer too especially when there is no way 100% right now. 24 minutes, plus 2

You know nothing about hockey if you actually think he wasn't good out there. If he plays like this for the next two seasons, he's going to be a great investment.

Applying zero forecheck, and icing the puck every time it touches your stick in the D zone has nothing to do with "cohesion" or "chemistry".

Funny to see that even Administrators aren't above blaming the refs when they play the Habs lol... I guess they are just fans as well but I thought the refs were brutal both sides tonight.

Idiots on l'Antichambre thinking again that they would be better GMs than Gainey.

I should stop watching that, I want to shoot myself in the head everytime.

Everybody look at the ice times for our players tonight on NHL.com.

That is one of the best things Jacques has done in this very early season! He is playing our top players *gasp* with top minutes!! And our bottom players/players not performing very well get LOW minutes! WHAT A REVELATION!

I am so happy with that aspect of his coaching. The team obviously has a long way to go, but I love how he is utilizing his players and managing their minutes. Major kudos on that front!
