I wish everyone would just step back and breath. The team is new. They lost Markov. It is going to take 10 games to get some (not all) chemistry. Its going to take alot of practice and games to get JM system working. Right now to many guys are thinking about where they should be and what they should be doing instead of just playing and reacting (due to all the new faces and systems).

A lot of great things I have seen.

The habs are fighting and standing up for each other more than I have ever seen

Price is solid.

Our D looked solid tonight and even though they lost the possession battle Buffalo took 18 shots from the blue line with no one infront of the net - You really shouldnt even count those shots. and Rebounds were cleared to the corners very quickly (alot of times it looks like our d is shooting at the corner

We have several players back checking.

when the other team is setting up the play and is standing behind their net our forecheckers are actually going behind the net forcing the play, not allowing an easy break out.

Our big signings are going to be awesome

We are on the road (and not under the pressure of the bell center) to learn the powerplay and we didnt score on any chances today, once that starts to click wins will be easier to come by.

I like the direction we are going in.

Go Habs.

-AK was invisible tonight, he really needs to pick his play up so the second line can take some pressure off the first.

-Pleks looked great again, I think the guy has turned a page this year. He's proving last year was just a fluke. I like it.

-Is it just me or is Gomez a turn over machine? A number of times he was making horrible passes that were getting picked off by the buffalo fowards.

-More to come as I digest the game.
Yes, it's just you. Stop noticing only the negative of his game. This guy is soooooo responsible defensively.
Just like listening to L'Antichambre " The Habs should be worried, with these 2 terrible wins" They have to be the dumbest ****ers on TV.

Whoa, okay the win might not be deserved but we didn't play that bad. Some of you are exaggerating a lot.

The Hypocracy of Don Cherry. The Leafs only lose because of bad goaltending, Montreal only wins because of it....

This team does, however, look lost often and doesn't shoot the puck enough.

I don't know if the goal is questionable or not, but have you ever been to Buffalo? It's tough living there and the fact that they're supporting their hockey team is a great thing, don't diss the city.

Agreed. I thought Mara played a very strong game. Great defensive reads against Vanek who isn't really the quickest guy so it worked for us.

No it's not just him. The guy is a turnover machine. As least with Kovalev it was high risk, high reward. Sure he's good defensivley but who pays a supposed 1st line center 7M to be good defensivley?

we need secondary scoring, but wow this team has become grittier. much more blue collar, more crashing the net, much more sticking up for guys...but we're going to have to figure out what to do with all the young guys sucking so early in the season...

and of course Carey, unflappable - a wall right now

People who are whining about the way the habs won

Why i'm not worried:

1)Price is playing big... He's stealing games... so what? thats what we ask from a no1

2)Markov is injured... Of course, it will be harder for them to win games

3)The habs played with 5 Dman and 3 centers

4)It was Buffalo's and Toronto's opening games at home, of course they will bring their A-game

5)The parity in the league is more and more obvious, year after year... Games will be closer

Thanks for insulting me and nice to meet you. The thing with Gill is that I expect to use his size at his advantage but he simply does not. I'd like to see him muscle forwards from the puck on the boards and throw big well-timed strategic hits. I watched his game closely and he gets skated around fairly easily.

The game wasn't that bad.

1st period we sucked
2nd period we somewhat came back and battled. It was an overall ok 20 minutes
3rd and OT we played good hockey not perfect but at least we showed some intensity and we fought for the 2 points... even AK46 and Max Pacs.
