Tomas Plekanec has been the most consistent forward for the Canadiens through the first two games and has shown very encouraging signs of restoring his play from two years (much more willingness to pay the price physically to make plays and challenge defenders.)

To say that he has been awful this year says a ton about your ability to evaluate players, that's for certain.

My guess is it's a proposal. So I'm going to change the title. The poster can contact a mod if this is actually a rumour and they forgot to add the source.

No Deal. Shane Doan in the Habs jersey would make lots of fans angry.

We need Pleks though.

And why would the Yotes do that trade?

Pleks, although in the TWO games we've played he hasn't produced many points, is setting up nice plays, making nice passes, and is playing really clutch. If he continues like this with only 15-35-50 but keeps playing good not making many mistakes, I'l be happy.
Also, there is no way in hell the Coyotes are even thinking about letting go of Doan, IMO one or the best captain in the league.

Pleks is producing at a point per game pace!

What are you serious? We are not watching the same games or you clearly hate Plekanec or you dont know what is hockey.

Because of a false allegation? They will shut up once Doan pots 30 goals 70 points and plays his heart out.

Shane Doan is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Habs, a big power forward on our top 6. Having said that, who would be playing center on our second line? Something would have to be rearranged.

I'd take Doan in a second for both Kosty's. I think Gainey would as well if he was presented this option. Can't have enough prairie boys in your lineup.

Isn't he Prices cousin? If so he could be a really good influence.

Also, Doan did NOT make those racist comments! I'm so tired of this stupid rumor. It was his teammate who said it while in a scrum Doan was in. This was cleared up a long time ago.

Doan is Price's cousin and I do agree that he'd be a great influence on him. Could help sign both long term as well.

I highly doubt that the Coyotes would be stupid enough to trade him though and if they did, it would take a lot more than the Kostitsyn brothers.

Isn't Doan one of their best players? Apart from the fact that Yotes are still trying to build up a team and that they may not be in Phoenix anymore in upcoming seasons. I don't see why Doan would be traded if he's essential, especially for what we would be giving back in this proposal.

Though I have to admit, I'm down for this trade. Pleks has been playing with potential lately though...

I LOL'D hard at this.

Plekanec > Lombardi&Lang (especially if they are looking long-term).

Turris is still super raw and hasn't really looked good at all at the NHL level, so I dunno.

Can't really look long term though as Plekanec is a UFA. Unless he agrees to a contract extension that is...

True, I guess I just look at goals. But I mean his play making is worth more than his points so far, which I guess is good for a center.
