Leafs need a couple first round picks more than they need a pair of ****.

If I'm Gainey I do it.

If I'm Burke, I'd ask whether you think I drink vodka or scotch?

Yep, expect to hear it all year. Ak, Sk and a 2nd for pretty much every first line/top pairing player in the league.

The obvious answer to this poll is yes if you are just looking at the players involved. But if you take a close look at the deal. You'll see that while we will get stronger on D, we get a hell of a lot weaker on offense.

The only way I would consider this deal is if Gainey had a 2nd deal on the side where he would move Hammer for a top 6 forward.
Fair enough but who's to say that you have to stop there? We could always trade for top 6 player after.

I agree, which is why I would hope if hypothetically this deal were to happen. Gainey wouldn't be finished and would look to add a top 6 forward.

The reason I said no was I was judging how our team would look without any further changes. Not the value of the trade, which favours the Habs immensely.

How is this poll not 100% in favour of the trade?
Or are there a lot of Leaf fans voting as well?

2nd line forward, with an Hamilton Bulldogs player, for an elite defenseman... makes sense?

If anyone voted "no" then they know nothing about hockey or were graduated from the Mike Milbury School of Hockey Management
