Well, if Minnesota fans are right and his defensive play did get better, could be good.

Or he could throw someone on Price and really **** us over.

Glad to see the pickup.

Bergeron is good insurance to have around.

So will a lot of people after a couple of games.

Calm the **** down. He'll be in the press box most of the time and when he does play, he won't be playing top minutes. He' a PP specialist, and if he's used the way he's supposed to be used, he'll be a good addition to the team.

Come on guys, this guy has a freaking rocket of a shot...as far as defense, we can always play with 7 defenseman and put him full time on the PP. He can't be that bad if his differential is +3.

Can be good with about 12 min of icetime! About 11min 30sec on the PP and 30 sec. 5 on 5!!!

Andrei Markov pass + badass point shot = good things.

Even as a #6 defenseman, he should be good for 35-40 points (most of it coming from the PP).

I don't mind this deal.

Not according to JM. He still needs tons of work on his defensive play and he's a rookie.

His Corsi was quite good last year, albeit against weak opposition. This may mean he's either better defensively than given credit for, or that he's good at keeping the puck in the offensive zone -- which also results in fewer goals against.

Not a guy to rely on for tough minutes, but I could see him filling a useful role 5-on-5 alongside one of the Habs' hulking defensive D-men. He's certainly capable of the transition pass, and who knows, maybe after Lemaire and Martin he'll be pretty solid positionally.

I hope it's for cheap! But, how can a +5 guy last season be this bad defensively? I've never see him play, but it's still weird to me.

People need to realize that under normal circumstances (health wise) this obviously would not be happening. It's a stop-gap move, but a necessary one and partially addresses our needs. Good move. And good on Bob to make the move this fast, as opposed to last year when he waited forever to land Schneider to help the PP. Too little too late, as we know...

GO HABS GO!!!

He will get limited 5 on 5 minutes and will play the PP. Some of you are making it seem like this guy is the worst D-Man in the NHL. He'll do just fine.

I would have preferred we give our young guys the chance before making this kind of signing. I hope its for cheap and only 1 year. I'll give an actual opinion after I've seen him play a few games.

I was hoping Weber would get a serious shot. But I can't say I'm surprised by this move. With all the injury problems we've had so far. We pretty much need all the D-men depth we can get.

Heh, considering he wasn't even in the NHL until a few moments ago, you can understand the skepticism...

They should just dress him in Brisebois' jersey and see if anyone notices the difference...

Kinda like when they replaced the mom on Fresh Prince without telling anyone and pretended like it never happened.
