Pretty good game. A couple of brain cramps by a couple of young guys cost us in the second and that's what made the difference.

Considering we're playing without Markov, O'Byrne, or Metropolit, and that Calgary should be one of the better teams in the league, and we were in their barn, and we had no help from the refs...we did pretty well.

We have to find a way to stop going through these lengthy slumps that wind up with us getting outshot 8-0 for ten minutes though...there's been one in each of the games so far and it's definitely not helping our cause.

lots of whining cuz we lost.. why can't you just enjoy a good hockey game without expecting the team to win 82 of their games this year? oh and every player makes mistakes, you don't have to mention each one they did tonight and say "oh boy it's gonna be a long season with him".

Are you telling me there was not one Flames penalty the entire game? Cross check in front of the net, breaking Kostitsyn's stick, tripping Lapierre after the faceoff. What a joke.

I was very impressed with the team tonight. More impressed than the two Ws. We really saw ALOT of character tonight.

So far.. Gionta/Cammerllari/Gomez > ANY 1st line we've had in recent years.

Ya, first game of the year without exhibition games and just coming off shoulder surgery, ya not likely going to be impressive paired up with Stewart and Laraque.

Well you had to deal with Bouillon AND Dandenault for a few years before. At least he's solid defensively, he just can't make a pass.

Awesome game to watch even though we came out with a loss a lot of positive things we can build on... 1st line reminds me of 13-11-27 from end of last year.. 2nd line looks like it started waking up in 3rd

A shame that the difference of the game was a grinder netting 3 on us, rarely happens..but of course happens when we play a good game. Actually looking forward to the season !

- We need to learn to push back, we scramble too easily when we get pressured.

- Game was determined by 4th liners. Makes you wish Metropolit wasn't injured.

- I wish we had 2 extra Moens, for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines.

- That first line is beast. Size is no where near an issue.

- My man Pleks. I knew he'd bounce back when 95% of the board wanted him under a bus.

- Akost is slowly waking up. Still groggy but waking up.

- Tough game for Weber.

Play Stewart against a more physical team, Vancouver
Flames are a lot more physical than the Canucks.

Halak lovers are all in denial tonight ? We lost because he didn't make the big save like Price has been doing. That's it that's all !
Like if it's possible in the new NHL for the Calgary ****in Flames to play 60 minutes without a penalty ! NHL = Joke !

I feel more confident tonight than I did after the Buffalo game. Our top line played amazing, they have heart, talent and grit. The second line (especially Pleks) played well tonight but I would like to see more shots from AK. Third line like always shows up and played very good. The 4th line is what made the game...their 4th line completely dominated ours and they got 3 goals out of it.

What decided the game:

- The 4th lines
- They got a PP and scored when we should have had at least 2 PP chances
- The goaltending

Overall, our top 3 lines play better and I like what I saw tonight.

Cant win them all.

Very good effort from the top 3 line tonight.

Im not dissapointed by the effort given by our players, especially in the third period. Very exciting hockey. Long non-stop hockey, 3 lines rolling and they give their best every shifts.

Gill is so random. At some times, he looks so poised. At others, he can't make a pass to save his life.

Plekanec, Cammalleri, Gomez, Gionta, and Mara were awesome.

Moen was very good too.

Chipchura was decent for his first game of the year.

Halak was alright. He played good, but even if two of the goals were deflected about a foot in front of him, for us to win, he's got to find a way to save them. I though the first goal was easily savable - the other three would have been amazing to have any of them - but if he wants to be a #1 in this league, he's got to find a way to stop them.

Stewart should skip the AHL and go to the ECHL. What a pathetic game.

Pacioretty IS NOT ready and I've been saying that since forever. Send him down.

Our defense is so.. bleh.. without Markov. Mara was the only really good one tonight, IMO.

Was a fair game.

Our 4th line was awful.

I dont wanna blame this one on Halak, but he looked shakey out there. The 2nd period was terrible by everyone.

In the end i think the difference was Kipper made the key saves.

Good game by Mara, Gorges and Weber on D. The rest, meh.
Pleks and Kosty looked good.
Gionta, Gomer and Cammo were impressive, but have to start burying it. Cammaleri looks like as soon as he gets one in, the flood gates will open. No luck tonight.

Off to Van, dont have a good feeling tho.

Tough loss but they only played well during stretches of the game.

The top line looks good for the most part. No real worries although it be nice for Cammalleri to get the monkey off the back and notch one.

The third line looked much better. Lapierre and Lats were actually controlling the boards.

Plekanec is on an island by himself. Pacioretty doesn't seem to gel with them at all and is a bit lost.

Akosts is literally Kovy junior. Skates to nowhere. One play in the second pissed me off as he has speed going wide and instead of cutting to the net, he takes the easy way out floating around the net. He needs to man up and go to the danger areas and stop playing like a pansy. I have had enough of these types of players.

Chipchura i liked too bad he had Stewy with him.

Defense was okay. Had its troubles at times but that is expected with this cast.

Halak. Average to below average. Not a single big stop, played too far back in his net and seemed to be guessing instead of fighting to see the puck. Montreal doesn't have the offense to have a goalie to be merely average.

A lot of young inexperienced mistakes out there that cost us the game. Too bad we didnt have one power play, could have sent this game to OT.

Agreed. He looked a little slow getting his shot off and it cost him a glorious chance, but he was getting involved. Usually if he doesn't score he's useless but today he was noticeable. He made some nice hits and kept the puck in the zone a couple times.
