Satan cant barely produce with Crosby or Malkin, he'd be no use here.

Speaking of that, why he's not there anyway?

was he even on the same lines of Crosy or Malkin?

His stats weren't so bad for the number of games he played: GP:65 G:17 A:19

I think any deal with Satan would have to involve Faust.

I assume he will be eventually, but it gets complicated at that point.

Markov's salary would be "saved" for four months, but that doesn't mean we can just go up against the cap again as eventually he'll come back "on the cap."

Generally speaking, to get a real rough rule of thumb, I'd anticipate you can count Markov as 50% salary this year for cap purposes. So we save a couple million over the course of the year.

However, I think we were right against it and Bergeron would have put us over. So really, we probably only have 1.5ish breathing room total and teams like to keep that so they can add later if necessary or more injuries occur.

I have to solution:

A) We convince Janne Niniimaa to come out of retirement and then flip him (once we've given him the two games or so it should take for him to prove he still belongs in the elite D class) to Dallas for Mike Ribeiro, a big strong center just what we always needed...

B) Sign a once prominent member of your Montreal Canadiens' top line, a 17 (!?!) goal scorer (in just 50 games I might add) a french canadien, 6'3/ 209lbs, pretty much everything we always wanted (no more smurfs!)

C) Wait more than three games (with a record of 2-0-1) before giving up on our young players who may need more time to adjust to the new system implemented by our new coach, playing alongside (at least to start the season) two new players they've never played with before.

Oh, it's pierre dagenais, btw. super good skater.
