this game is up there with some of the all time worst habs performances i've ever witness. up there with the 12-1 patrick roy's last game against detroit and the 8-1 loss to philadelphia (john leclair's first game back after the trade)

I haven't had a chance to read the thread, but I hope no one is blaming Price. Okay, he was amazing, but he was left out to dry several times.

At least four of those goals were legit terrible defensive plays that the goalie had no real shot on. One clear cut breakaway, one 2-0, one was a semi break/2 on 2 type deal where the defensemen did nothing to play the forward with the puck, cross ice pass to Bernier where no defender bothered to pick him up. Another goal was just an unlucky bounce where the puck went of Mara and landed on the stick of Vancouver's best forward... Henrik Sedin, who had a wide open net because of that bounce.

Price isn't perfect, but it's hard to fault him when he Montreal players have such a terrible game defensively. Just awful.

If anyone believes this loss had anything to do with Price, well you're all crazy

This kid was totally hung out to dry. Every single defenceman on this team owes him a sick game in Edmonton - I felt so bad for Price yesterday - in front of his family and they do this to him....not cool. I just hope this doesn't screw Price up.

To Hamilton: MaxPac, Weber, Stewart, Dagostini..

To MTL: Subban Bergeron Pyatt Nielsen
In this case, Stewart and D'Agostini have to go on waivers if you want to put them in Hamilton.

This.

I can't believe it. In front of his parents and everything, the team just did not step up. We can't expect price to save us everygame, although he didn't really help with any big saves, the goals were all on the D. Woulda been nice if he can save a few, but he can't be superman every game

I doubt Stewart would get claimed - D'Agostini would though.

I don't think D'Agostini would get claimed to be honest. I mean when a guy like Alexandre Giroux goes on waivers and noone picks him up, why would D'Agostini get picked up? D'Ags in one dimensional, and will never fit into Martin's system - and I don't think he's really that good anyway.

I'm so sick of hearing «The management doesn't trust the kids enough, with don't they give them a chance, why sign MAB, try Weber and Carle».

And after one or two games «They are not ready for the NHL, send them down.»

Damn it ! Give them a chance to LEARN.

Weber deserve to stay with the team.

D'Agostini has the tools to score 30 in this league. Will he? I don't know. The potential is there though.

A team like NYI or ATL will take a flyer on him, IMO. And I'm not about to risk losing another player with high potential to waivers (Hainsey is the most recent).

how can you see it that way??? he left him basically as a message that the goals werent his fault. this comment goes to show how many montreal fans know nothing about hockey.

If Weber isn't playing on the PP, then he isn't going to help this team.

I would call up Pyatt and Bergeron (when ready) - Stewart would go down.

Maybe you're right, but I'm not convinced about D'Ags, I wasn't even convinced when he scored in 4 straight games last year. But that's my opinion, and considering I don't work for an NHL franchise it doesn't really mean much does it

There's a few things that need to be reminded about this game. First off, we were playing against a team desperate for their first win (0-3-0 was their record before this game). Vancouver was on home ice so definitely had something to prove. Luongo had absolutely horrid stats and was even pulled off the ice in their last game. On our end, we were coming from Calgary where we played an intense physical game and lost that game despite our efforts against a behemoth defense. Not to mention both games are in the west and they are back to back.

These aren't excuses but actual fact. We didn't play well at all but this game was a recipe for disaster from the start. I just hope we don't make the mistake of not starting with Price against Edmonton.
