The play by Williams on the third goal and Smyth on the last goal was impressive.

BTW, I'm not on Kopitar's back, I just wanted him to shoot more and he'll keep up this pace for the rest of the season. The guy can't score 1 goal of 2 chances the whole year, so that's why I'm saying shoot the puck a bit more and even if he has a bit of an off night (which he hasn't had the first 3 games), he'll still rack up the points and be that 100 pt player everyone wants him to be - yes even me.
I think with Williams and Smyth on his wings, which are both skilled player in their own right and the solid 3rd line Fro/Sim/Han defenses cannot single out Kopy like they did last year.
Kopy is legendary and I wish him and the team all the best and hopefully to reach the POs!

If one of the defense pairs get hot offensively we can call them the twin towers.

Smyth-Kopitar-Wililams = The Royal Sweet Line

with Doughty/JJ on the PP they become The Royal Flush

This line is really about Kopitar-Smyth, correct?

What is twice as powerful as an AK-47?

Smyth gets a lot of credit for the nice pass he made to Kopitar, and he deserves it. But Williams really deserves some credit for that as well, look at how fast he brought the puck up ice and passed it to Smyth.

I love this team!!!!

so we've seen that the kings can win sloppy shoot-out kind of games, but can they win tight-checking 1-0 games? i have a hard time imagining them shutting another team out after their performance so far, and they just aren't going to light it up offensively like this all year.

If they get the PK under control, they've only given up 1 ES goal in two games.

The sun is shining, birds are singing and I can smell the ocean air.
Means higher fire risk, birds are really fighting and ocean air means rust.

Lighten up and enjoy the good times when they come. Save the complaints until the bad times are here. I don't think Anze will beat Ovi for the scoring title at the end of the year but I will enjoy the fact that he is averaging more points per game for this week.

Pretty much, if it wasn't for the no name line then our PK would have buried us in both of these past two games. Our defense is a huge problem right now and I question how long our offense can bail us out before it catches up to us. The Rangers/Red Wings double header is going to be pretty telling of how far we have developed this time around. We'll see.

On another note:
I can now officially announce that my biorhythm and my subconscious are a diehard Kings fans. If I know that there is a Kings game at 4.30 AM and I decide to not watch it because of college the next day, I usually wake up anywhere from 4.00 to 5.00 in the morning. It sucks, cause then I HAVE to watch it

Grade the players (Kings vs. Wild 10/8)

Ok, here's the new thread for last night's game. Sorry, I'm unable to have it up after the game but unfortunately, I just don't have enough time in the evenings.

Anyhoo, here are my grades:

LA vs Minnesota 10/8
PlayerGrade
Brown 1
Doughty 0
Drewiske 0
Frolov 1
Greene 0
Handzus 2
Harrold 0
Ivanans 0
Johnson 1
Kopitar 2
O'Donnell 0
Purcell 2
Quick 1
Richardson 1
Scuderi 0
Smyth 2
Simmonds 1
Stoll 1
Williams 1

I really liked Purcell's game last night. He was back on defense and was hustling all night. That pork tongue must work wonders.

For many people in Los Angeles that name has a far different connotation.

See, I like this better. Simple anagram names aren't as fun. It worked for LAPD, but that was serendipity. Crown Jewels may not be great, but its a name, not just a smattering of initials.

In my head I'm going to think of them as "The Lords of L.A." line until I hear something I like better, however I will just refer to them as the line scoring all the goals until a name becomes unanimous.

I was hanging out at my dad's house watching the game as he isn't as big of a kings fan as I am, however he did follow the gretzy, palffy era but faded in recent years for various reasons. However everytime this line was on the ice he would sit there and say holy **** this line is good. So for me, the line is now known as the holy **** line (lame story i know).

I actually think this is a good name. Unless, someone else can come up with something better.
