Eh, would have preferred him to start against Toronto, but whatever. He did let in 5 goals in the 3rd period against them last year.

Hopefully Vally can step up, Anaheim made Boston look like fools on Thursday.

Anaheim is playing tonight in Philly. The Rangers game is their 3rd road games in 4 nights. Their second game in 22 hours.

First game I'm going to this season...Vally in net against a team like Anaheim? Not really liking it.

I love how this time a year ago people were saying "Vali could be a starter in this league!!" and now everyone is scared to death of him starting against the Ducks.

I know this cause I'm on the same list!!

The beat writers might have jumped the gun on Vally starting against the Ducks.

Or what could the Rangers acquire in a trade involving Vally

Vali + Rosi for a Superstar of our choosing?

They'd need to send some first and second round draft picks our way, otherwise we are getting skinned clean value wise

Wait, what's so special about the Ducks this season?

Getzlaf being a year older, Perry being a year older. They've been firing at all cyclinders when they've gotten their game going and even though they loss pronger, they're still as physical as ever. It won't be an easy win whichever way you slice it (they recently beat Boston 6-1).

Tim Thomas is overrated Boston won't be going anywhere this season

They also recently lost to San Jose, twice, 6-0 and 4-1. San Jose isn't known for keeping pucks out of their net, they've let up more goals than all but one team.

Year older doesn't necessarily mean better though. I think Getzlaf already hit his prime, and Perry is very close.

Whichever way you look at it though, losing Pronger was/is going to set them back some. Pronger is a monster

Toronto was like 4th in the league for GF last year, I think it was a smart move to play Vally against the Ducks. I'm more scared of Lundqvist vs. Semin/Backstrom/Ovechkin, then Vally vs. Perry/Getzlaf/Ryan.

Vally always seems to play against the leafs so it would make sense for him to play Monday.

That's plenty of firepower to worry about.
