That was almost a perfect road game.

Brown and Frolov had trouble with their breakaways, but Mason is a good goalie. I'd like to see Fro try something other than slipping it between the pads. NHL goalies have that move scouted.

Quick solid as a rock tonight. Johnson is going to raise some eyebrows on the East coast this trip.

Did Simmonds and Doughty return to the game after their injuries?

Excerpt from post game story from hhtp://www.lakingsnews.com

Quote:
After a final two minutes that would have given a block of stone cardiac arrest, the Los Angeles Kings clawed and scratched and prayed to the hockey gods as they held on to a 2-1 lead against a St. Louis Blues' team that showed up to the rink about 55 minutes too late.

Specialty teams figured prominently in the game, but not in the way we've been used to so far. While the power play scored a goal, it also gave one up to Alex Steen in the third period. The penalty kill, however, was flawless. A matter of grave concern for all Kings' fans leading up to this game, the Kings killed all five penalties they received. Justin Williams' highly ill-timed and even more unnecessary slashing penalty at 17:31 of the third forced the Kings to hold off a 6-4 attack for a full minute, causing heart attacks in living rooms across the San Fernando Valley. If not for refreshingly strong defensive efforts and Jonathan Quick's x-ray-like ability to see the puck through traffic, that penalty would have easily lost the Kings the game.
This win was really satisfying. Nerve racking, but satisfying. We lost this game in OT last year.

Doughty is showing what an aberration that first game was. JJ is living up to his potential and showing how stupid all the trade talk was. Should be a great decade on the Kings blueline.

No. This is the year they both make the playoffs, but they won't meet.

That will be 2012, since the hell raised in Los Angeles will be biblical.

Because the Ducks get knocked out in the first round by another team, right?

after this win, less than 6 points on this trip would be a disappointment. IMO

Jack took out his man on the shorthander. That wasn't on him.

I don't know if I was more proud of the Kings winning or Drew Doughty taking a puck to the face and staying on his skates. I love tough mother ****ers and he's that.

I love our defense currently.

I can't remember the last time I had that feeling about a Kings team.

One thing I'd like to add is that Williams is not cutting it on the point in the PP. He just doesn't seem to be at the right place when he should be. I'd like to see him as a forward on the PP in place of Brown. Brown needs to earn his PP time because I'm seeing him squander alot of chances by blindly driving to the net when there isn't a lane. If he doesn't have the puck put on his stick by the net he is a detriment.

I agree with this. Williams at the point and Brown down low both look... off... on the PP.

Yes, because a 41.7 PP%, 3rd best in the league, clearly shows that it's just not working. What's not broke, don't fix it.

it's funny how everyone here constantly criticizes Brown but his coaches and teammates constantly praise his play...

Peter Harrold of all people had at least three glorious scoring chances. Mason was very good.
