I miss Jim Day but Raffi2 hasn't been given enough time for me to judge. If he always looks nervous and afraid during interviews (he does look that way to me... like a shaky chihuahua) then I'll miss the more poised Day.
I'm open though, so I won't vote.

Voted for John Michael aka raffi2.

He seems more knowledgeable than JD and less of a cheerleader.

I can only hope he has Rimers job in a year, as TW said.

Funny you should say that...wasn't the talk that he was let go because he said some things that didn't sit well with the suits at CBJ HQ??

I'm not of the belief that an fan of the team can't be a good announcer...good fans can still respect good opponents and good plays and will criticize bad play from the home team. I am assuming the definition of a homer is someone who doesn't. So maybe, JD was a cheerleader but, I like it better than someone who comes off as a 'reporter' just stating the facts. (Not that Raffi2 is this way - haven't seen enough of him yet.) It seems to me that watching JD chat with the players after the periods was like getting to watch myself do it. A fan - getting to go back to the locker room and shootin' the bull with his favorite stars.

When that glorious day comes do you want to hear:

"After x years of toiling in the NHL basement, the Columbus Blue Jackets have finally won the Stanley Cup.'

or...

"THE JACKETS HAVE WON THE CUP - THE JACKETS HAVE WON THE CUP - OMFG - THE JACKETS HAVE WON THE STANLEY CUP!!!!"

The latter will come from a fan of the team.

Ah well...Thanks Jim Day!

Jim Day was fine. I liked his enthusiasm, and his "are you ready for some hockey" before the game. JM is more of a straight on host. He doesnt try to be funny or clever. Bring Jim Day back, and send Ray Crawford back to doing H.S football games.

Give me Jim Day, or well give him back. I'll give Raffi jr. a chance, but so far he seems like a step back.

Tonight is the first time I've been able to get the FSN Ohio feed. Wow. You guys weren't kidding.

As a side note, watching all the other teams' feeds really shows how ****ing dreadful FSN Ohio is.

In the spirit of giving him a chance, I went with Raffi2. JD's got a soft spot in my heart because I'm also a Red's fan, but seeing the same face 12 months a year does get pretty monotonous. I also like watching Raffi2 try to hide the excitement in his eyes when he finishes a report without screwing it up. He looks like a kid in a candy store.

I rather imagine the pickles themselves would vanish, followed by TW's avatar and a few other privileges.

Ok, seems like the answer is to bring back Jim Day to replace Ray Crawford, then let Raffi2K9 stay on the floor, preferrably in the dark.

I've never been flattered twice in a single post before.
