Wouldn't be surprised to see Wilson and Blum in the top 25.

In some circles, especially on this board, Dustin Tokarski is considered a better prospect than Pickard simply because he was the starter for Team Canada and Pickard was the backup at the WJCs. That's just the way things roll around here, sometimes.

I'm not worried. Pickard, Engren, and Dekanich are all solid goaltending prospects in their own right. I think Smith has taken a few steps back too jump back on the scene, but he has the talent. With Rinne already having a fabulous year last season, we are fine in net.....Not to mention we have one of the best goaltending coaches in the buisness.

Which is really funny because our prospect pool hasn't looked this good in a long time.

Exactly, over the past few years I've been surprised with how high our organization has been ranked with the holes we've had organizationally. However, over the past three years I've really applauded our scouting department for the quality of our drafts and really feel that our organization is the strongest in terms of prospects that I've ever seen it and yet, we only have one prospect ranked individually in the top 50?

What happened to Blum and Pickard? How did they drop so far? I think we also have a few guys from this year's draft that didn't necessarily merit selection this year, but will most likely garner enough attention this season that they'll be listed next year.

Bottom line though is that while our prospects seem to garner little respect in this list individually, I think our prospect pool is very strong overall...

Out of their minds. I see him and Hickey as equally good amongst WHL d-men. Than come Myers and maybe Cowen who have more potential but less polish. Blum not being in the top 50 is absurd however.

Dear Mr. Blum:

Tape a copy of this "Top Fifty" list to your locker, your fridge, and your bathroom mirror. Keep one folded up in your wallet.

Read as necessary.

Sincerely,

Martin Gelinas
Director of Player Development

He's under 24 and hasn't even played a regular season pro game yet. He's eligible.

I think they were going to have him well up on the list, but they heard us complaining on this board about a disappointing camp, so they bumped him down.

Here's today's article from NHL.com about some Pred prospect named Jonathan Blum. Seems like alot of publicity for a prospect not even in the top 50 HF prospects list, no?

There is no question that Blum should have been in the top 50! I would say top 20! whoever is picking these, missed the boat on this one!
