I've wondered if Grabovski & Kulemin should switch positions. Kuley is much more sound defensively and hasn't looked too bad taking faceoffs from the handful I've seen him take this year, whereas Grabovski couldn't win a faceoff to save his life.
How Blake and Stemps avoid the benching is beyond me. Both compete just as little if not less at both ends of the ice. They both skate around a lot then make a dumb play. Stemps Hagman and Blake all had brutal giveaways yesterday though.
Leafs to no ones surprise are last in the league in goals against at this point based on the goaltending of Vesa..
However Blake is a team worst - 6 on the season and an easy choice to scratch.. Stempniak is Even on the season in +/- and among the better Leaf forwards.
These two players should not be mentioned in the same sentence.

Lack of production, lack of defensive play, and bad giveaways, makes them easily mentioned in the same sentence. Stemps is working hard, but is doing just as many bad things as Blake is.

Agreed. If everyone played as hard as Stemps did, we wouldn't have lost every game so far. Like I said, he's not getting results yet, but when you play as hard as he has, they will come. Blake needs to go, send him down, call him up, hope someone takes him. He's just going through the motions now, he's a selfish player and he's not good enough to do things by himself anymore.
Not benching Blake makes me think that he is being show-cased.
I really don't think you can showcase Blake unless the plan is showcase, waive, recall.

He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.

...package. I am the last guy to speculate anything; but if it were to showcase him then he'd have to be part of package going the other way for atleast a bag of pucks or some broken water bottles.

Blake is minus 6, Stemp is even on plus minus, you are incorrect
When Stajan was benched last year he came back with a vengeance. Hopefully it works again.
Exelby in, they better not take Finger out. The guy's been one of our best D men.
For the love of God tell me you're joking.
Next game, pay attention to how many times Finger coughs up the puck in our zone. The only reason he hasn't clearly been the worst is because Schenn, Beauche and Komi are in complete shambles out there.

Gotta love +/- cause it definitely tells you exactly what is happening and the situations players are playing in. Only stat you can actually use to measure how a player is playing.

I'm not a fan of Finger but he has played very well IMO.

But isn't working hard the key to all this? Our team sucks, period.. at least the guys working hard shouldn't be punished.. if you're skating, creating and trying your hardest.. you're bound to make a mistake here and there.. give the guy some credit!
