He played pretty well last night..he had a few chances including one good one which led to a Lightning PP. He and Lecavalier seem to be pressing at times trying to make things happen because they haven't gotten off to a great start on the scoresheet yet. It's only a matter of time before those two start getting going.
Good. I'm glad to have him. He and Vinny will get going and pour in some goals eventually. Right now Alex seems to be working a little harder than Vinny, but then again he doesn't have Vinny's guaranteed money. Looking forward to good things from him.
Tocchet said even though Vinny Lecavalier and Alex Tanguay haven't scored a goal yet, they're not in panic mode, and are doing "the right things when they're not scoring."
"Vinny...is getting a ton of chances," Tocchet said. "I think (Tanguay) early in the season had a couple of chances in the slot and shot it wide or over the net; he could easily have three, four goals and we wouldn't even be talking about this. On good teams, some lines will cary the team through certain stretches...As long as they're playing our team system, they're fine."
