What's different then about Smyth that makes fans forgive him for things like that?

If you actually try to answer that question you'll probably get some insight into why fans get on other players in the same situation (I don't know the answer myself, but I would think there's a least a tinge of the notion that Smyth, without a doubt, does whatever it takes to win, demonstrates that every game and as a result gets mulligans when he has a lapse like that.)

i'd LOVE to hear an explanation of Jarret Stoll getting benched for a bonheaded play.

Hey... at least you answered the question.

Smyth should get picked on more for that gaffe, but it's no big deal for whatever reason...new to the team, works hard, communicates well, honeymoon phase... who knows.

Who'd have thought? Kings at 2... Detroit at 14? God love the first two weeks of the season. Everything's wacky!

I don't think he has hurt the line obviously as he has chipped in some points. At the same time, I don't think he played too well at all against the Islanders. He definitely seemed to be losing the battles along the boards, and having some difficulties handling the puck. He has missed a lot of ice time over the last few years, so i have been thinking he just needs a little more time to get that strength and timing back. As long as the line is producing and the team is winning, he will be given that time to get into form.

Apparently those 4 days are the difference between the show and sitting on the internet talking about him at 12:30am with a essay due at 9:30am that I am 1/3 done.
