Although, I'm pulling for the kings, I'm also hoping Boyle has a great game.

I just never understood why a big man HAS to play the physical game. He's been a scorer all his career but coaches automatically place him on the 4th line due to his size.

I'm not sold on Ersberg. I think the kings lose this one tonight.

I'll be happy to eat crow tomorrow if they win. Bring it on *****es!

Also thought this is worth pointing out to you guys:

Rich Hammond - LA Kings Insider
Harrold’s versatility
Posted by Rich Hammond on 13 October 2009, 6:23 pm
Peter Harrold is a forward. And a defenseman. Or is he a forward acting like a defenseman? Whatever he is, he seems to be earning Terry Murray’s trust. His minutes, as a forward, have gone from 4:29 to 7:32 to 7:47 since he started playing forward in the second game. Harrold’s value, particularly late in tight games, is that the Kings can put him on the ice as a right wing, but he can essentially serve as a third defenseman. Today, Murray talked about Harrold’s versatility and the ways in which he can be used…

MURRAY: “Later in a game, I will sometimes put him on the top line, even, and take a player and put him down for the rest of the game and have (Harrold) out there in a defensive situation with a one-goal lead. His responsibilities are excellent. He’s going to play a very courageous role there. With pucks along the boards, if you have to take a hit to make a play at that time of the game, he has no hesitation.’’
This is so true! He plays very courageous indeed.

pre-game fodder http://lakingsnews.com/2009/10/14/th...wounded-groin/

The NHL’s two hottest teams (when was the last time the Kings were a part of that sentence?) have a few storylines to go along with the pursuit of two points. The Kings will face Brian Boyle for the first time since trading him over the summer. Boyle recently expressed some bitterness towards his former club.

“It was frustrating in Los Angeles, so I was happy with the trade,” Boyle told News Day. Apparently he has picked up the name ‘T-Bone’. Hard to imagine why, as Boyle’s reputation is more fitting of the moniker ‘Tartar’, as he has yet to fully translate his tasty raw skill in to a well-prepared main course.

He also told NorthJersey.com that his time with the Kings “hamstrung me last year.” Even though he is being asked to play the same role with the Rangers as he was last year with the Kings, a tough, 4th line center, Boyle added “It paralyzed me, looking over my shoulder wondering if I could stick in Los Angeles. It’s a fresh start here.”

Big words from a big man with a little game.
Kings win. Duh.

I agree 100% with Boyle. He did well towards the end of last season and even had a couple of scraps to prove his worth. The guy can score and has the size to be physical AND has the heart to play in the nhl.

I don't think he's ever been given a fair shot by the kings or in new york for that matter. I guess time will tell but I'm pulling for Boyle.

Boyle is as Boyle does, and long as Boyle does fetus impressions in the corners, Boyle 'aint an NHL player.

What I find funny is he seems upset about how he was treated in LA, but aside from the switch to defense (which I agree was a big mistake in handling Boyle), its not like Tortarella is asking anything different from Boyle. They want him to be the same player he was asked to be here, a big, gritty, mean 4th line center who is responsible on D. He is not expected to score there.

Kings outwork the tired Rags. Double E blows it in his first start. 4-3 Rags in OT.

Stat Pack -- The Rangers have received 10 goals from defensemen this season, which equals or eclipses the goal totals of five teams.
Girardi - 3 (1 was EN)
MDZ - 2
Redden - 1
Gilroy - 1
Staal - 0
Roszival - 0

7 total. Hopefully we can get those 3 more tonight.

I'm sure the Rangers won't be tired coming off that route of the Leafs. The Kings need to ready at the start of the game, or it could be a repeat of the Phoenix game.

Some days, I miss living in the Long Beach Marina-area. Then I remember that Charter was (is) the local cable company, and I find myself missing it not quite so much. [Although, I thought I had heard when I was there (2006-ish) that Verizon FIOS was coming "soon" to the area.]

On-Topic: "Go Kings"
