O'Reilly up, Santorelli down

Was thinking about the same thing this morning. Legwand will be shifting to the wing with this move. Gives the team more options...

I've always been against moving Legwand to wing. But when you suck as much as he has lately, he doesn't deserve to have a choice in the matter.

Honestly, I highly doubt he would put up any protest at this point. He knows something needs to change. Trotz says you're playing wing, you are thankful you're still getting ice time...

That's a good guess, but Guite might be out and Jones in...

Legwand played really really well last year as a winger.....His offensive game definitely took a step up. The responsibility of a center in Trotz's system can be stifiling.....lets hope this is the case once again.

So if Cal gets sent back down, this time he can be claimed on waivers, correct?

i think he can be claimed on re-entry, which this is what it is right now, because he was already waived to be sent to the AHL ... this is re-entry waivers

No, Cal is exempt from re-entry waivers due to his AHL salary at $105k. Anyone over $105k and waiver eligible must clear re-entry waivers. Those making $105k and less are exempt from that provision.

Yes, to be sent down again Cal will have to clear waivers. I anticipate he'll be here a while as long as he doesn't play the way he did early in camp...

No problem, it can get confusing. Nolan Yonkman is the only player in Milwaukee that is subject to re-entry waivers. Nolan makes $115k at the AHL level.

I like O'Reilly coming up. But I don't like Santorelli going down. There's several people I'd send down before Santo. But sending Klein down won't work, unfortunately.

Oh well, if you're called up to score goals, and you don't score goals, you go back down. Guys like Smithson, Guite, Goc have roles that allow them to stay in the NHL without ever sniffing a goal. They are so valuable in the "intangibles" and are big reasons for our strong recent play.

I like Legwand moving to wing. It showed promise last year and it's good Trotz didn't wait until January to try it out again. Would they pull a switch and have Leggy still take faceoffs? He's been doing well this year I thought, and I don't know how good O'Reilly is.

Now just bring up a D-man...

Another rout tonight and I'll be dangerously close to caring as much as this season as the team seems to... which is to say I won't care at all.

I think you have to try something to keep Klein off the ice. I know nobody else has shown up but he just seems to be especially brutal this season.

Last year I was defending Klein against those who said he just doesn't think clearly enough, and often doesn't hustle enough. This year I'm agreeing.

Sure would like to see Sulzer (or even Blum...) instead of Klein. But in the meantime, Bouillon and Laakso have to split a few of Klein's minutes.
