I honestly would not be surprised if we pick top 5.

Well, we could be Toronto...

Good first period, but I hate that we always have to play catch-up hockey. I dream Montreal would win one game by a large margin. The confidence is hard to built with performance mixed of bad luck and bad period each game.

Stop doing drugs.

Markov doesn't make us a top 4 team

Gaborik with 2 more points tonight, 7gp 6g 6a 12pts
Gomez 7gp 1g 3a 4pts

I think the rangers knew what they were doing swapping him for Gaborik

Are you blaming Price? God I hope not, he's 21 and further more not one of those goals were his fault. Price was solid again tonight

Our transition game is just pitiful. It's obvious that our defencemen now just don't have the skills to generate some offense.

They need to replace Andrei Markov with another puck moving D and fast or this season is going to be write-off.

And teams don't win unless their goalie makes some key saves. Price has been good, but not great. Making those saves is where you start seperating the goalies.

I'm not nitpicking either, I blamed every front. We are getting, at best, average outings as a club involving the offense, defense, and goaltending. As long as this keeps happening, we are pretty much screwed.

I was saying in the GTD... I think the biggest disappointment thus far is Martin.

Horrible defensive zone coverage and strange coaching decisions (namely, giving Gill the minutes he's getting and giving BGL ice time with 5 mins left...). Disappointing.

Miley doesn't understand Price isn't the problem. He's been solid this year.

It's only been 5 games and I can tell you that the leafs are not one the top 8 teams of the East either.

We need about 89 points in the last 75 games, that's about 41-42 wins, 5-6 OTL and only 27 losses in 75 games.

Is the Bell Centre built on an indian burial ground? Sure looks that way.

But before people get all freaky, there are still a lot of positives we see every game. I don't see a problem with the team, just individual players not stepping it up and putting the whole team in trouble (Gill and Chipper). Plus our young ''guns'', namely Pac and Dags, are from from ready to produce at a decent rate to support our attack. Otherwise, despite the streak of losses I still like what I see from the smurf line, plekanec, Price and Mara. I figured I'd say something positive since this PGT is gonna be all about negativity for the next 3 pages.

I posted this in the GDT too just before closing but I am a little stunned by all the Price sucks comments...It's not like he is getting much support from the guys in front of him this year...The Habs could nail a piece of 4X6 plywood over their goal and still struggle to win games....Pretty hard to win games averaging only 2 goals per game..

I knew it would be hard to watch this team without Markov but it's starting to become unbearable with no end in sight...

This team really is not good. It's really not.

The realistic assessments made were right:

(1) Hall Gill does in fact suck. I knew it was all Scuderi. Knew it.
(2) This team does lack secondary scoring and depth. The team was deeper before.
(3) The Gomez trade will haunt this team. We just bought ourselves years of being the New York Rangers...and not the good ones who shipped out Gomez.
(4) Gaborik, when healthy, does things Scott can never do. What's the point of having a healthy guy who can't really do anything? As you can see, Gomez's impact is...average.

The Gomez trade will end up being Gainey's downfall.

When Markov comes back and if the team goes on a tear of winning and scoring.. I think the league should just give him the Hart Trophy.

Gaborik is an elite talent, who happens to get hurt a lot. Sather just decided to roll the dice. I don't know if Gainey took a run at Gaborik or not....but I wish he had of.

IMHO, Montreal fans are the absolute worst in hockey.

Loud, passionate, absolutely love to hate their team, pretty much hate to love them, too, hair-trigger quick on the boos, love to think they know a lot about hockey, and love to show they absolutely don't. At least they're keeping the team rolling in money, but being numerous does not make them good fans.

I dunno. I don't see the point in hitting the panic button. Montreal's playing pretty well, and getting absolutely murdered on percentages; they're snakebit, basically. The puck possession game is mostly there. They're outplaying teams, particularly early in games. And yet they never get anything for it. Small wonder they're getting frustrated late in games. But that can't last. Eventually it should even out.

This is not a team that deserves to be on a five-game losing streak. Period.

Oddly, I think they're going in the right direction in many ways. They play better 5-on-5 than they used to. That was the one thing that they absolutely needed to improve, the sine qua non for them to become a good team.

Then again, I've thought that before about Habs teams that played well and kept losing. Maybe they should go back to sucking -- hang on for dear life, have the goalie save their *****, and score one more goal than the other guys off a broken play. Out with puck possession, in with rope-a-dope. That always did seed to work better for them.
