Belle should stay, he's played pretty well with Mara.
I like Belle. He just needs to play within his game and not lose his cool. He brings some grit to the defence. As for Martin, I don't know I may be getting short tempered as I grow older, but giving all that ice time to Gill, what the hell does Martin see in him? The Second coming of Chara.

If you check nhl.com and look at the stats and toi, you will see that Gill is 7th on the team on TOI. And he's only 3ish minutes ahead of Plekanec and Mara. Those 3 minutes ahead of Mara are probably from his 19 minutes and then being benched, otherwise, Gill would be 8th. Markov in the lineup, Gill is 9th. He doesn't get as much time as everyone seems to think. It's just everyone is looking for him to be on the ice to see if he makes a mistake so you can come on here, bash the guy to make yourselves seem intelligent.

The problem with Gill is that he only goes noticed if he messes up. He's not exactly a game breaker. We shouldn't expect much from him, but he shouldn't be put in last minute situations.

My 2 cents.
And your 2 cents would be wrong.

D'Agostini played his best game and is also waiver eligible. No way is he sent down yet.

Chipchura has not been good, but Stewart was even worse when he played.

It's probably just Belle going down (maybe Pacioretty if they call up Kostitsyn - probably Stewart if Pyatt is called up). I wish, however, we could send Gill down and keep Belle for now.

You sir, are correct.

Pyatt has played four games and posted 3-points (2 goals) and a +3 rating. The only game he didn't pick up a point in was his first game back from injury.

If he ignites the PP then we have something to build on, defensive deficiencies be damned. Production is key and I actually would like to see how this team protects a 2 goal lead.

with our anemic pp, mab's is worth a shot. last night, if we scored on our 5-3 it would have changed the compexion of the game. it's critical that our special teams improve and if he can inject some efficacy into it (like schneider did last year), then its worth it. yes, there are compromises (his apparent defensive shortcomings) but everything comes with a cost.

Well I'm certainly not pinning any hopes other than PP improvement on MAB right now. All I'm wondering is if that improvement of our PP will be in part or totally offset by his defensive liability 5-on-5. We already have Gill to provide the entertainment value of constant defensive turnovers, not sure we can take 2 on the same D squad.

Also, I wouldn't send Belle down. He's proven he can be a decent #7, more so than Weber, and I don't think he has much to learn at the AHL level still.

MAB up, Belle down says RIS.

Belle left a (surpisingly) good impression, wish he could have stayed up.

I wouldn't have minded keeping Belle up as the 7th D and dressing 7 D, limiting MAB's 5 on 5 time, using him as a PP specialist, but oh well Belle was pretty decent.

My 2 cents.
We're probably going to lose Dags through waivers, though. You don't mind? As much as I dislike him I don't think we should send him down since he has some potential. I agree about sending Chip down for Maxwell though.

Thanks for your pointless post but I never said he's getting more ice time than anyone else. He's on the ice more THAN HE should be forget about everyone else.

And if we look at the d men only he is fourth. He shouldn't be getting that much ice time.

Mara seems like a good shooter? Or it's just me?

He seems to get more shots to the net than Jaro, anyways...

Gill is only slightly ahead of Mara, because of Mara's 19 minutes (Well, 15) and then being benched, other wise, Gill would be 5th amongst d for average toi. Since our 6th d has been a revolving door, that's pretty good and where he should be.
