To Hawks
G Marty Turco

To Stars
G Cristobal Huet
RW Jack Skille
LW Billy Sweatt

Both goalies have had ups and downs over last few years and seem to get alot of flak from fans. Both could use a change of scenary to turn things around.

Hawks add in 2 good young prospects to compensate for final 2 yrs of Huet deal.

Turco can be an elite goalie as shown in past and Turco will be UFA after year so it would help Hawks CAP

Rapid fire proposal time, is it. Is it deadline day already?

Okay enough with the proposals... this should be spam... why not just make one thread with a bunch of proposals in it saying "Chicago needs a goalie"

No but have you seen Huet so far.

Hawks have been dominant in almost every game but Huet has given oppenents a few himself and allows the others to jump into game

I hate the 1 thread idea!

It makes everything get lost in clutter and alot of times goes off track

Like I said as we saw with the thread in summer about "RFA Fiasco" having 1 mega thread leads to cluster of misinformation, fans attacking back and forth and then the info and opinions get lost in it

Think about this for a moment. Pretty much any team with a true #1 goalie that could take the Hawks to the Cup is going to have a good chance to make the playoffs. Without that goalie, not so much. With that in mind, how much is a cup chance worth to Chicago? Honestly, if you start thinking about the value of the one player that can make the Hawks 2010 Stanley Cup champs. Start your propsal for Turco there. It's a lot more than you offered.

So your crap for my crap kind of deal huh? The biggest problem I would say with this is the salary. Yes I understand that Dallas has cap space but they are on an internal budget and I just can't seem them prolonging their commitment to an overpaid goaltender when Turco's contract ends at the end of this year. The add ins are nice just not sure it is enough to overcome the financial restrictions imposed on the team.

And in all fairness Stars's fans do give Turco alot of crap but he looks considerably better than this time last year when his performance was just abysmal.

Seems like everything has been pretty solid over there so far; as to this proposal I couldn't be more against getting Turco. He's been getting worse each of the past few years- at this point I'd bet on Huet to outperform him. Turco would be run out of town in the same manner as it seems Huet is on his way to. Way past his prime and there is no reason to expect him to recover his incredible form from a couple years ago.

So the Stars trade away the better goalie, who isn't locked up to a ridiculous contract for 2 more years, and basically all they get are two average forward prospects(a position the Stars are absolutely loaded at)? What incentive is their for the Stars to do this?

Lets not try to sugarcoat Huet's performance shall we...He has been dreadful and that .840 SV% is not helping his case.

This doesn't help Dallas at all. Two average prospects won't make up for Huet's 5.6 mil. cap hit. Especially since the Stars are on an internal budget and have a primary priority to resign Neal, Niskanen, Grossman, Wandell, Ott, and possibly Auld. All those players mentioned are due for a raise except perhaps Wandell and Auld. Turco's 5.7 mil. cap coming to an end this summer, along with a few others, will help the Stars management in resigning all those players. Adding Huet's contract only raises the chances of losing one of our young players. Also, Turco is overdue for a long-awaited pay cut.
