Definitely looks like the Preds need to do something to get some offense.

What's the self-imposed cap on the Preds? 45 or 46 million?

Don't wanna give up Semin. Few people realize how much of a nosedive our offense would take. Without him we have 2 great top 6 forwards, a patchy 2nd line with Laich Morrison Knuble, and a stopgap for Ovechkin and Backstrom. That offense will end up being carried by Ovechkin and Backstrom and they'll be barely breathing by the playoffs.

Suter, while a fair return and a total baller, costs way too much.

I'm thinking something like Fleischmann + Schultz + 2nd/3rd for Klein. Though at this point the best realistic option for us would be Tallinder.

Not to mention, the Radulov fiasco has left Poille a little gun shy in regards to Russian snipers I'm sure, especially Semin, who like Radulov has also demonstrated he'll go back home despite still being under NHL contract if unhappy with his North American assignment. Semin is pretty much untradeable despite being highly desirable. In fact, if its a trade between NSH & WSH, it's Radulov who is more likely to be traded than Semin.

I bet Leafs fans everywhere are wishing Burke had just not interfered and let Nashville trade Blum, 1st and rights to Radulov for Kessel.

Without the Leafs offer, Kessel had 29 other teams all willing to pay in the 4.0-4.5 range and the move to Nashville would have been made. As soon as Burke put 5 years at 5.4 on the table, it was Toronto or Bust for Phil Ke$$el.

I still think that Boston and Nashville make a move this year, and it will involve a forward to Nashville and Blum to Boston.

The Flyers would take Suter or Weber off your hands gladly.

I would take that package for Klein. He's been brutal this year.

Honestly I'm a huge Hamhuis fan but I'm not quite sure what teams would want to give for him. Again here are some trade offers.

Ducks get
Dan Hamhuis

Predators get
Lupul
10 2nd rounder

Senators get
Dan Hamhuis
10 3rd Rounder

Nashville gets
Nick Foligno
Chris Campoli

Tampa Bay gets
Dan Hamhuis
Martin Erat

Predators get
Steve Downie
Drew Miller
Matt Smaby or Mike Lundin

Again some of these may well be off but just tossing some trades out there.

All BS aside would they be willing to give up Rinne for Filppula and Howard?

What's the likelihood of trading Dumont for Pominville?

Haha in the Leafs wildest dreams.....

Poni won't even fetch a 2nd rounder (he's UFA at end of the season) and not as good as Leafs fans make him out to be.

As a Caps fan, I'd absolutely love to see Suter-for-Semin get done; however, from a Nashville perspective, I'd feel kind of ambivalent. Semin is absolutely lights-out when he's on and focused, but when he's not, he's not the biggest team player out there. Does he give the Predators the gamebreaker they lack? Yes. But there's a slight whiff of Jagr-to-the-Caps going on, too. Definitely a gamble.
