Nikita Filatov.

Hitchcock doesn't appear to be a fan of him at all and I would imagine this could potentially turn into another Zherdev situation. His ice time has been dropping significantly and it appears he won't really get the chance to do much on a Hitchcock coached team.

Filatov is a potential superstar and I would LOVE to acquire him. I would just imagine it'd take a lot to get him.

EDIT: Also, Frolov is a healthy scratch tonight.

Filatov would be sweet, but could be a pipe dream. Besides, I'm sure Montréal will miss out on him if he is dealt.

Frolov is believed to be a healthy scratch because he hasn't been playing well as of late.

If we could get him without losing Akost we'd have a very legitimate top 6.

Cam Gom Gionta
Filatov Plekanec Akost

It would be great to keep him but if that's who they want in return which I doubt, then you do that trade anyways cause Andrei so far has not been that impact player we have been waiting for

Nathan Horton

If he is available wouldn't he fit nicely in Montreal. Maybe JM can pull something off with this ? Move Pleks in the trade. It would give us a little more size in the top 6. Even though i do like the way Pleks is playing to start the season. Or we could use something else and have Gomez,Horton,Pleks,Lappy as our 4 centers

I would wait at least 1 more month before trading Plekanec... he seems to be the best forward out there thru the 1st 7 games.

Understandable, but even with him playing well we aren't winning. Maybe just a spark of some kind to light the fire.

You've got to think Florida would be interested. A Horton-for-Frolov swap might even be a good idea with whatever is needed to even it out...it looks like both players could use a change of scenery.
