Last season vs this season

Do you guys rather have last year's team right now, or are you more happy with our current roster?

Last season:

Tanguay - Koivu - Kovalev
Higgins - Plekanec - A.Kostitsyn
S. Kostitsyn - Lang - D'Agostini
Latendresse - Lapierre - Kostopoulos

Markov - Komisarek
Hamrlik - Gorges
Schneider - Bouillon/O'Byrne/Bri... nvm

Honestly I'm kind of starting to miss last year's team. We had depth at center, grit on defense, and some fire power up front, especially on the PP. This season... I know we're missing Markov, but still, I think it's safe to say that our offense was better last season, and with Plekanec and O'Byrne (edit: and Gorges) improving, we could've been a much better team this year.

The only player from last year that I miss is Markov

The team was just as hopeless last year with Markov injured.

This team at least tries. Doesn't seem to be doing much good, but it's not as unbearable to watch as last year's team.

Last year line up is probably my favorite Habs line up for the last 15 years. Sucked that the whole team never played together for many games.

Besides, obviously Markov, the only player i really miss is Lang. He was the difference maker on that team in the first 20-30 games. He had great vision, size, and scored important PP goals even without a big shooter back there. It would be nice to have him on this team with Plekanec and Stitsy, plekanec playing the wing, and being able to take faceoffs when necessary.

A healthy last year lineup >>>>>> a healthy this year lineup.

We've seen what the healthy last year lineup can do in 07-08.

1st round exit from the PO's. We have seen it and that is why we have the players we do today.

In case you didn't follow last season's playoffs, Markov wasn't playing and Price was mentally injured...

I am not too fond of either roster as a whole however i do like certain components of each one.

I like Cammalleri as I think he could is a fixture you can build around. Despite diminishing returns, I like Gionta's competitiveness, winner type presence. He is this years Koivu in that sense. I like Mara as a veteran presence and simply a good defenseman.

In terms of actual results I am not sure how much better this roster is than last year. On paper it looks improved but we don't know if and how much it will actually be. Time will tell.

I hope I am wrong but i do fear this team lacks the size and character on the top two lines to be anything more than a fringe playoff team. Again, I hope i am wrong and they prove me wrong cause these players are locked in long term.

The Habs aren't better now. The question is, are they worse?
