Stoll was in Murray's dog house around this time last year.
Benching Kopitar or Doughty would be a huge mistake.
Again, I'm not advocating doing that, it's just comical that people here think the monthly marginalization of Frolov by the coaches has any effect on the players.
Benching a Kopi or Doughty would. Only point I'm trying to prove.
The history of player development doesn't agree with you. But even then I'm not advocating for that either.
I just think it's comical that some of the sheep here think that Frolov, for the umpteenth time being the fall guy - when no one else is - is sending any kind of message to this team other than: "The coach and GM don't like Frolov and it's only a matter of time before he's gone."
Benching some of the guys I mentioned, even if for a period, would send a message. Whether or not it should be done is a different argument, one which I'm not advocating for.
Greene, the asisstant captain, was very critical of the play during the 1st intermission interview. there is also a blurb in the Murray interview which seems to lean towards Frolov needing to be a better teammate.
Again, I have a hard time believing what is said on Hammond's blog when it comes to matters such as this but take that for what it is worth.
Lombardi wants a fiery team that plays hard and sticks up for each other. None of that applies to Frolov's game. I echo the sentiments of those that say he's been an outsider since Day 1 and Lombardi was never going to re-sing him unless he changed. Well, he is the way he is so like it or lump it.
Frolov is simply an outsider on this team, his days are numbered. Murray's trying to send a message to the team, as well as Frolov,....
Like I've said before, what message is that? "If you don't play up to the potential I have for you, you may get traded to a team that is more than likely ahead of the Kings in the standings."
Most long-time Kings' players would WELCOME that message - especially those that would like to play a playoff game someday.

That's all good and dandy but continually singling out the same player, when there are plenty of players that aren't pulling their weight (including Greene, our worst defender all year) doesn't do anything when it's been Murray's M.O. especially since last year.

I'm starting to feel this way too unfortunately.

That doesn't really apply to anyone on our team, expect for maybe OD and Johnson.

But Greene is one of the poster boys for DL's whole "buying in" program..whatever the hell it is.
Was Frolov part of this group of guys who played together during the Summer? I just think that DL envisions a group of 20 guys who like each other and care about one another. Frolov's aloofness doesn't help here. Also, when he was best friend's with one Sean Avery, you almost have to wonder about him a little bit.

I've said this for such a long time now. It's a PR machine and now it is entirely official since the Kings are paying for it.

I think they see it happening though and Lombardi NEVER sees Frolov being what he wants. Not saying it is right but he's building his team...call Lombardi out on that one if you feel he's wrong.
Then he should have done it a long time ago.
Agreed. He has the talent though and would probably be willing to take a hometown discount. Lombardi was probably hoping he would turn it around but they apparently don't think he will.
Well, I'm not going to rant here, but I've pretty much now lost all hope of us keeping Fro and I'm pissed about it. I hope he goes to a good team and wins a god damn Cup while we struggle to find a replacement.

Cheer the laundry and not the name on the back. If a Frolov trade is the straw that breaks the camel's back for you as a Kings fan then so be it. Hoping LA struggles because a guy synonymous with possibly the worst stretch of LA Kings history and two 30-goal seasons to his credit is traded is pretty reactionary.
I hope he continues to get paid millions of dollars and never wins a Cup if he isn't a King. Boo-hoo for Frolov. He will survive. I'm more interested in what the return will be if he's moved and how said return will help the Kings.

The way that it seems Murray planned to use Frolov will make it easy to replace him.
The way that he should be used woukd make it difficult. Posted via Mobile Device
Let's get the first of these two games... GO KINGS!

Ivanans on the third line makes me sick. So hypocritical. His penalties so far this season has cost us more than Frolov's mistakes. Should be Moller in that spot at least.
