But so what? Overall market value doesn't dictate how I would construct my team, and doesn't take into any account what the relative strengths and weaknesses of a specific team are.
I completely disagree with that. Halak is a #2 goalie, Barker is a 40 point defensmen with a booming shot who would give our D a whole new dimension while Halak can EASILY be replaced by Sanford if you count the number of games he will play. I don't get the love fest for Halak if Barker is available.

Halak is a good #2 goalie who may be a #1 some day, I don't think he can remotely be replaced by Curtis Sanford. Barker is Marc-Andre Bergeron in a bigger body. There's no real love fest for Halak implied there, more of a hate-fest for Barker, I'd say.

I'm confy with a D like this once O'Byrne comes back:

Mara - Spacek
Hamrlik - O'Byrne
Gill - Gorges

Bergeron as an extra

Why would the habs trade Price? Errant is a troll. He obviously knows nothing about hockey because if he did, he would know Price wasn't the problem. Even the almighty Halak let in 4 goals against Calgary.

Honestly Price bashers are a bunch of losers.

Wow, the other genius that looks only at stats.

Full of hockey knowledge this board is.

Why even watch the games when I can look at the boxscores?

yeah I could tell you that I dont like his technique and attitude but you still wouldnt allow another point of view.

X bashers are Y, I cant stand that. Its so nice and comforting to believe in Price,Gainey and heck Chipchura.

Technique? Oh the goals that defect off our d-men and 2 breakaways, a two on none and a guy free to make a pass while in the crease. Don't forget a cross ice pass on a 5 on 3. Yup all because of Price's technique.

Attitude? Oh right, I forgot, your in the room and you have connections with the media to provide you specualtions on days you are absent from the room.

Gotchya!!

Yes clearly you watch a lot of hockey. Chipchura is not playing because Metropolit is injured. Gainey forced Martin to bench Glen. I forgot that you are so connected with the team, silly me!

wow, Thank God I had you to point my faulty hockey knowledge, now excuse me while I go gain some by looking at boxscores and stats!

So just because Price is playing decent, we can't trade him?
I give up. I know this board is supposed to be full of free-thinking hockey fans, but most of you eat up what the media is telling you, and right now, they're telling you Price is great. Truth is, twould be interesting to see what kind of return could be received for him.

That's not what Jack Todd would have you believe or any guy on rds. Considering halak isn't any better that what do you suppose we do copernicus? Please do give up, hopefully the quality of postings will rise with the decline in posters.
