Kings have a BBQ in Dallas!

4-1!

Discuss!

3-3 on the longest road trip of the season!

As much as we all overreacted, 3-3 on the longest road trip of the year aint that bad when your team was battling a flu through the second half of it.

Kopitar continues putting up points. Brown and Williams with arguably their best games of the year. The first Quickian win of the year. He kept us in it.

I started watching when it was 1-1 and I got to say the kings battled hard in that 2nd period. Completely dominated imo. Third period was usual kings, playing preventive defense. But im fairly pleased with the outcome tonight! Who said we need Frolov

Williams best game since becoming a King and he has now played a couple of games... so I say keep him on the first line...grinding Smyth..power hard working checking Williams ..and skilled Kopitar.

Maybee we could call them The Gripowski line? ....Hmm.. maybee not.

A couple of things...

Will Frolov play Thursday? That will be interesting.

Kings need to get scoring beyond the first line. I don't know what needs to happen, but you can't rely on that first line the whole season (like they have the first 9 games).

Seem to have Dallas' number.

Really really can't stand Ivanans in the lineup. Need to do something about that. We need to deal for a legit middleweight that can eat up 13 minutes on the 3rd or 4th line. Daniel Carcillo?

If someone had told me that LA would be 5-4 after 9 games after 5 games into a 6 game road trip I would have said...I guess so, but I doubt it.

Good end to a road trip. Can't be happy about the way they played in those 3 losses, but at the end of it all, a 3-3 road trip is a success.

Tonight:

- Quick was stellar in net. Made a few key saves that kept the game 1-0 and allowed us to build a lead.

- Williams - Kopitar - Smyth were all great.

- Dustin Brown had a great game. He's starting to come on these last three games, hopefully Stoll and Purcell will elevate with him.

- Simmonds and Richardson played well too. Moller needs to spend all season working out and eating. Harrold was serviceable and Ivanans gave us a useless 6 minutes.

- Johnson was a rock on defense again. It's amazing how much he's improved in his own end.

- Doughty was good too. He's still making some minor mistakes but you can see his overall game rounding into form.

totally agree about ivanans. he has no business on the third line at all.

williams, for as much as i took issue with his play so far, was much better tonight.

Ivanans has no business dressing. In the NHL today, you don't really need a heavyweight, let alone one that dresses almost every night.

With all those injuries the Stars have, of course we should have won this.

he's in Manchester and injured.

When Clune comes around, he'll be good to go. The way Richardson is playing, he could roll up to the zus/simmer line (I aint calling it the third line) and Clune could play on the fourth.

They added Brown's assist to the Simmonds EN goal for those that were mentioning in the game thread.

I too can't wait for Clune, but he hasn't played an NHL game yet. We need an agitator on this team. If CLune can fill that role great, if not, need to go get a Carcillo, Ott, etc. type of guy.

How about Smyth and Kopitar being 3&4 in league scoring.

That cycle on Kopitar's goal was a beauty.

Go KINGS!

Hopefully management just stops trying to change him. Either accept him for the player he is (not likely obviously) or trade him now for something that can help this team.

Reallly? They outplayed one of the hottest teams in the league and could have easily won. You can't win every game and I was quite pleased with the game against New York.

The Detroit game wasn't great but it was B2B and the officiating was lousy. And - of course - Detroit is still a pretty good hockey club...

I missed the CBS game but the Blue Jackets are a playoff-calibre hockey team. And the team had the flu. A very reasonable loss.

Absolutely.

The hysterics around here during the 3 game slide was just brutal. Far too many knee jerk reactionary responses and lack of perspective. Hopefully 2 points here will quell some of that absurdity.

Mhm.

I absolutely loved watching Williams dancing around the slot in that shift or two leading up to the Kopitar goal. That was the best shift of the season for those guys. It was oh-so-necessary to get the next goal, and they did.

Glad to see Brown coming around. Looks like they gave him another helper on the Simmonds goal.

Oh god, I'm watching the Stars postgame and Crawford is talking about a young team making mistakes... It's like I've entered a time warp.

Terry Murray is that you?

The using the "we played good/great teams" should be a thing of a past. It doesn't apply if we want to consider the Kings a potential playoff team.

The Rangers game was ok for points, but our special teams were terrible as well as Ersberg. Those are the keys to pretty much every game so I can't see how you'd be pleased with that.

We panicked. We complained. We self loathed like a Jew sneaking a pig in a blanket at a Yom Kippur service. Then the Kings told the fans in so many plays to shut the hell up.

per TSN ...

ROAD WARRIORS
Smyth, Williams lead Kings past Stars.

Ryan Smyth had a power-play goal and two assists, Justin Williams
added a goal and an assist, and the road-weary Los Angeles Kings
snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over the Dallas
Stars on Monday night. Full Story
