"I haven't been happy with Fro's game for several games," Murray told the LA Kings' Insider. "The game the other night is the straw that broke the camel's back, in my opinion. The turnovers, the careless play… It has to be better, and you have to come out with that high level of intensity, with smart work, hard work, and you've got to love the game. You've got to love the game in order to be a player. The talent is there, but it always is the work that brings out talent. And I need more."
Sounds like exactly the type of a player we need!

LA probably has 0 interest in Halak. They're pretty high on Quick and they have Bernier waiting in the wings.

Frolov in Montreal would be interesting though. Although, LA is most likely looking for a center...

I hope Gainey try everything to get Frolov.

Gionta-Gomez-Cammalleri
Frolov-Plekanec-Kostitsyn

It would take both Kostitsyns to get Frolov and I would do that in a heartbeat. The biggest hole is in the Top 6 and if you give Plekanec a 1st line winger to play with, watch out.

The Rangers look amazing. Another goal by DZ.

EDIT: A supid penalty by Higgins to kill the momentum.

Trading both Kostitsyn to get Frolov will not help this team much. Frolov is slightly better than A. Kostitsyn while Andrei is 3 years younger. And we need another top 6 player, replacing A. Kost with Frolov would still leave a Max Pac or Moen or D'Agostini on our first line. We need Frolov to COMPLETE our top 6, not replacing anyone of our top 6.

Right now, Frolov is MUCH better than "slightly better" than Andrei Kostitsyn.

He's UFA. Do we have to cap space to keep this almighty Frolov you speak of, whos MUCH better than 23/26 goal scoring, younger Kostitsyn?

Sergei+D'Agostini+ 2nd. Rental.

Agreed. However, Frolov is a UFA and would you be confident in him signing after the season...Especially since BG doesn't negotiate contracts during the regular season

I know, he is better defensively and all but we need stop giving away all 1st rounder and our talent. Plus, Frolov is an UFA at the end of the year while Andrei is a still RFA in 2 years. Having Frolov will help this team in short term but it is still a risk. We dont have much talent left in Hamilton. Max Pac is clearly not ready, D'Agostini is struggling to crack a spot in our top 6. Giving away A. Kostitsyn and risking to lose Frolov at the end of the season will make our top 6 even weaker next season.

And A. Kostitsyn does not hurt our salarial cap. Lets give him more time, i am still confident that he can score 30+ goals.

EDIT: I said all that because that I dont want to trade A. Kostitsyn for Frolov, i know that Frolov is a better player than A. Kostitsyn right now. Having them both would be great for our top 6.

I was thinking who the F is that fast guy with Wellwood on the back of his jersey? But yeah, maybe one move too many, or maybe he needed it to get the angle on Khabi. Anyway, another loss for Van to make me feel not so bad about our record...

Yeah, if he didn't deke he might not have scored.

Can people go and visit the Rangers GDT please.....so that the whining about how our board and game threads are soooooo terrible, and how you would only see that on a Habs board, about how we are the only one panicking like that and so on...How many games did the Rangers lose again?

Please, for whoever is concerned, take a look at their GDT so we'd finally some hearing that nonsense ever again...

2 more seconds and that game is tied on a sick goal by Wellwood.

I was merely replying to the fallacy of your comparison between the two players. No, I don't think major assets should be given up to get Frolov. But if the price is decent, I don't see any reason in not persuing it. However, if this team isn't in a position to make a run at the playoffs after the all star break I doubt Gainey would go out to trade for a rental(not saying Frolov is un re-signable).

Frolov is a better player than Andrei Kostitsyn, right now, and most probably into the future as well. He just brings more intangibles to the table, is a better all around player, is a more mature player, has a better work ethic, and is more consistant. Now don't get me wrong, Andrei Kostitsyn could become a better player, he posseses more raw talent in his offensive game then Frolov does. However, if you asked me who I would rather have on my team, regardless of contract situation, its Frolov.

A trade inside the division; Daniel Paille is going to the Bruins for a third round pick. Lots of movement in Boston.
