Van/NJ

To Vancouver:
G Jeff Frazee
D Matt Corrente

To NJ:
Cory Schneider

NJ gets an NHL ready prospect who has nothing left to prove in the AHL as an eventual successor to Martin Brodeur. Frazee goes the other way, plays in Manitoba AHL this year and becomes Roberto Luongo's backup in 2010-11; and Schneider is an upgrade over Frazee so Corrente goes to Vancouver as well.

Let me hear it folks !

Nah. I'm really interested in seeing what Frazee has in him. That said, I'd rather keep Corrente for an already sucky D-corps.

I think that the canucks are looking to package Schneider for a player. I know Schneiders stats in the nhl are godawful but his AHL stats are ridiculous and I've seen him dominate in preseason a few times. He's got it in him to be something special.

Its a lateral that hurts NJ's depth.

Risk Brett Favre affect if you bring in a goalie for the future that is ready now

This is actually a respectable proposal but I'd rather keep Corrente and Frazee

Can you please explain to me what that is?
I know Aaron Rodgers had to wait a few years after being drafted to get his shot, but did that impact his developement? He's one of the best QB's in the NFC and has the numbers to back that. Why not have Schneider learn from the game's best?

Schneider would probably be in the AHL if the Devils were to acquire him. They wouldn't want to sit him for 70+ games a year.

Schneider looks like he has a future, Frazee might, I'm disappointed with Corrente...this Devils fan does it.

I'd rather not trade Corrente for an upgrade of our goaltending prospects, especially since Schneider would just end up stuck behind Brodeur.

I agree, it seems like a pointless lateral move. I'm also not ready to give up on Corrente yet. We may need a better option in goal than Frazee for when Marty retires, but I don't think this is the right way to get our goalie of the future.

Not that I want to give up on Corrente and in reality, we need the kid to make the team next season, but I have to admit, I like this deal and would probably pull the trigger on it. At the very least, we need an opition if Marty falters, especially in future playoff games. As it is now, it's Marty or nothing and that's not a great position to be in as Marty is getting up there.
