Frolov is worth more and is better than both Kostitsyn combined.

I'd rather Trade both Kosts to Ottawa for Kovalev.

What?

IF WE GET FROLOV RE-UNITE HE and Cammy

Frolov - Plekanec - Cammalleri
Latendresse - Gomez - Gionta
Pacioretty - Lapierre - Moen
Laraque - Metropolit - D'Agostini

I'd do it in a heartbeat, but he wouldn't resign here.

That's why. Those numbers are quite superior to Andrei's. There's also a chance to re-sign him next year. He has history with Cammalleri and who knows, maybe he'll love the Montreal atmosphere (and peeler joints).
Also, looking over at the Kings board and they sure don't want to get rid of him.
and there's a chance we give up a very valuable player for a guy who may walk in the offseason. why not just try to sign him at the end of the season instead of giving up on andrei after an 8 game "slump"?

Personally I think that we are overpaying for a pending UFA and someone that might turn into a Kovalev in this league (someone who floats and does not care at times).

Discuss!
That would be a horrible trade, even with Sergei's value in the crapper.

Getting frolov would be great ... and would make our 2nd line more dangerous ... frolov over either one of the kos bros any day of the week imho ... but if you trade both of them ... you still have to figure out who's going to play with plek and frolov ... on the other hand ... trying s.kos on the 2nd line with Plek and his bro could solve a lot of problems at once ... I'd be disapointed if they proceed with the trade without trying it ...

Yes yes, I'm sure you stay up till 1:00 am in the East watching the magical Frolov play in the West. Who knew CI had such power?

Straight up one for the other.... I would have no problem with the UFA status.

If you throw in Andrei.... then... that trade sucks.

Well, I start work at 11:30am..so there's nothing stopping me from staying up until 2, or even 3am. I pretty much watch a late night western conference game every single night.

What exactly are you trying to prove with that post anyways? So many failed attempts lately on HF Boards with posters trying to be smart *****.

No thanks, mostly due to the ages of the players involved and their contact status.

S.K + a pick or a young player like D'Agostini or O'Byrne should be enough.

If you can sign him, then great. If not, then not worth it for an impending UFA. While the Kostitsyn's have baggage, so does he.

This is the exact same thing i was thinking. Frolov - Plekanec - Cammalleri, i wanna see it.

I haven't heard of any trade rumors but I know one or both of the brothers will be traded because of the whole CAP issue and suspensions ect. My question is: What team has the CAP room that they would be able to make a trade? (not just the best fit)

Andrei has a much better contract situation, I think he has this year and next at a good price while Frolov is a UFA.

Maybe Frolov plus a 1st or top young player.

Hard to say at this point.

Would Edmonton be interested in SK as a pairing with Gagner?

For those who think SK could go to Chicago because of his "chemistry" with Kane, does it seem like Kane is missing SK.

I don't know if Boston is an option, now that they have lost 3 players, but how do you negotiate that move.

Cap space for SK is not an issue. For AK it might be, but he's not a huge salary.

If anything we may see a swapping of problems and contracts.

I really don't think it's as bad as you make it sound.

Frolov is more consistent then Andrei, more complete then Andrei, only slightly more expensive... Yes he his a UFA, but I imagine GM's aren't knocking at he door in demand for Kostitsyn, and that includes Sergei who is probably not worth a mid-round pick to us right now.

Frolov-Plekanec-Cammalleri could very well be a legimate line, we know he and Camm have previous chemistry. As for the first line we know Gionta-Gomez works, its just to find a complimentary player to go with them.

I think

Latendresse/D'ags/Pacioretty/-Gomez-Gionta
Frolov-Plekanec-Cammalleri

looks better then what we have.

Don't get me wrong....if he wasn't UFA, in heartbeat. But it's a really, really bad deal for a UFA, IMO.
