Plekanec: 8 pts
Koivu, Kovalev and Tanguay: 8 pts.
The three of them are off to slooooooooooow starts. Koivu is putting in the effort, but he and Selanne are "lethargic" as one Anaheim poster described it. Anaheim as a whole has been pretty average. Tanguay...I picked him in one of my pools and he is ****ing pissing the **** out of me. Paul Mara has more points than him for ****'s sake.
I think that Martin should came back with Price. With giving less then 25 shots any of the two goalie could have won tonight.
I dont.. I like Price. But you need to keep the winning goal.. you are facing the Rangers on Saturday, if he goes in net.. and we lose.. then the team loses confidence on him either way..(weather anything was his fault or not) now if Halak goes in net and he loses.. than the two wins before are STILL fresh on their minds.. and the confidence isnt totally lost on Halak and you can put Price the next game.

No. We've been giving away those shots all season and Price has failed to make those tricky saves that aren't highlighters but solid saves to maintain the tempo of the game. He'll bounce back, I have a lot of faith in him and a little competition just might be what's needed.

Kovalev...well who didn't see that coming
See what coming? Kovalev already has 3 goals, which is more then Koivu Lang and Tanguay combined. Kovalev is the only one we should've kept, imagine these lines

Remove Gill and his salary from the line-up and he could fit. Mind you i do not want Kovalev, there's a reason why Plekanec is becoming a great player on his own. Kovy sucked all the creativity out of Plekanec's game.
So the Habs are capable of winning against last season's non-playoff teams? Of course the Islanders finished dead last. I'd feel better if they get some wins against the stronger teams.
Alright fine, then take away Andrei and his ridiculous 3.25 million$ salary.
Then you are pratically in the same problem you were left with before. No 3rd player to fill the void on the 2nd line.
Honestly.. I love Kovy and all, and I was sad to see him go.. but this team needed a facelift. Some new blood, new faces.. new leadership.
Anyway.
Cammalleri again is just awesome in post game interviews, Ive never seen a guy answer questions so calmly and so intelligently like he does. He's a pro at it.

Awesome win, Metro is showing some serious game and you could see some chemistry coming together on the PP. Cammy was chatting with Pleky on the bench after he scored his goal and he was pointing to the replay on the score board. They both watched it and then talked about it. You have to be 1 or 2 steps ahead of the defense on the PP and with the shooters we have it will come together the more they play. As for next game about who plays goal.......its a no brainer you have to go with the hot hand simple as that.

A team where last year they had LOTS of trouble.
A game where the players on slumps SCORED. Confidence is huge in any thing.
You talk so little about a strong performance by this team.. who out-shot by a long margin the Islanders (a team that was able to beat the Hurricanes... who some may say are stronger than us) and out scored them.
There were alot of positives.. if the team had a lost of even 2-1.. youd probably come here with a 5 paragraph post about how much we suck and how we should trade him and her and him.. and their mom.
it seems that gomez took pacioretty under his wing
i was at the game and during the commercial breaks, gomez looked like he was teaching pacioretty positioning in the o-zone
If it's true. I like. Its something alot of us have been complaining about that the Vets arent taking care of the youngstars.. so it's good to see.. Also shows some leadership qualities.
Gomez is just amazing. Slick passes, can haul the puck so well through the neutral zone, perfect for the puck possession style... he's practically telepathic with Gionta, and Camalleri just has the sweetest one-timer to go with Gomez's passing... and isn't a shabby passer himself.
Mind, MAB has a pretty good Hammer of Thor too. A PP with Markov, MAB, and Cammy on it should lead to good things.
It's funny how Carbo was bashed for putting Metropolit on the PP and Martin looks like a genius for putting Metropolit on the PP
You're right, but if I recall carbo would only do it at the end of a game we were losing horribly to "punish" the top pp units, not as an actual strategy (and he would put him with like laraque and kostopoulos)
I was at teh game. Great, great performance. The fact that we've only allowed 20-23 shots a game in the last what 5-6 games is aawesome. System is coming in. I told you guys to be patient. But now let's not get ahead of ourselves.
On another note, I think the lapierre on second line experiment was a success, and his goal is a testament to it. He went to the front of the net and banged in a loose puck.
EDIT: Also, we are going to beat the rangers on saturday cause I have a feeling Gomez will want to rip them a new poohole.
