So it will be a pessimistic spell checker?

Also, if they trade for a D man....no room for Hickey next year....

I highly suspect that Lombardi plans on O'D slowing down and slipping into the #7 slot by the trade deadline. If we're in a playoff position I would almost guarantee that we are looking to add another defensemen midway through the year. O'D just won't be able to keep up with 82 games, he and Dean both knew that when they extended his contract. Dean likes his "reserve list". If someone gets injured in the playoffs he doesn't want to have to call up a rookie.

I also highly doubt Dean has Hickey slotted in the line-up for next season.

Another couple days eh?

I miss the vague days of Crawford when it came to injuries.

Some of the call ups also make me question whether Frolov is on his way out sooner rather than later. At this point, anything less than "great" is not going to be good enough for Fro.

Murray has been vocally displeased with both Purcell and Lewis's games. This call up has to do entirely with that.

I really don't see any situation in which a veteran forward like Frolov gets moved in favor of a prospect. We just don't have any offensive prospects that can step into the NHL right now and fill the void that would be Frolov's spot. At this point, call-ups are only really bad news for Purcell and Lewis, as they're the only ones who haven't really proven that someone in the AHL can't do what they're doing better (I'm giving Ivanans a bit of a break here, only because TM loves him)

They will just score own goals and save their energy because, you know, they are going to lose anyways so what's the point

I believe PARSE is leading Manchester in scoring and +/-.

He is producing now the way some scouts once said he would.

He has speed/agility/good hands/top-notch hockey-sense,
and plenty of grit and leadership.

PARSE WILL GO to the the scoring areas.

Parse WILL BATTLE HARD for loose pucks.

Parse WILL PLAY both ends of the ice.

Parse WILL WORK HARD all game.

Parse WILL SACRIFICE his body to make a play.

I am so happy he is finally getting a chance.

Here's to his success:

GO SCOTT PARSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All these years, I had no idea you were Scott Parse's mother. You've raised a fine son Mrs. Parse. We all wish him the best

Picks and prospects may be all we get for Frolov at this point. See it or not, I have resigned myself to the fact that every piece of objective fact tells me he is gone, more likely sooner rather than later.

I kinda had the same thought but then I was thinking it is another one of those **** or get off the pot type experiments. I don't even remember when he was drafted other than he was a DT pick but I'm guessing he is on a short leash to put it together.

Capn Brown,

Been watching AHL Manchester and Parse is going to surprise you. He is really good at the point on PP. Doubt LA gives him that roll but #2 PP point might be an option. Not as fast as Lewis but hands and vision are better. To me he seems setup up for the pro game quick decisions with the puck, good anticipation, and a good awareness similar to Drewiske.

Remember two seasons ago Moulson, Purcell and Boyle were supposed to step in and instead they all went to the AHL and Simmonds and Moller made it....

Now this season Lewis, Clune, and Purcell were pretty much penciled in and Lewis has been a healthy scratch, Purcell has fallen flat, Clune is injured and back in the AHL and now Parse is up...

Funny how things happen....

The guy deserves the chance. All the reports coming out of Manchester is that he is the guy who came into this season as the most improved player. Even caught management by surprise, as they were expecting others to carry the torch. That's hockey though, just like life, totally unpredictable. Hopefully he does well, as he is also a pretty good defensive forward at the AHL level, and can hopefully bring that to the Kings. It's nice to see management reward a player who has worked hard to improve his game. It sets a great precedent for the organization, that no matter who you are or where you were drafted, it's the results and attitude that count.

Yah, I looked at Machester's stats last night and he was on top. The other glaring stat was Hickey had 0 points in 7 games. If you want to get called up to the big show you need to put up stats, Parse has done his job now let's see what he can do.

Glad to see Scotty is finally getting a chance with the big club. There is a good article on him over at www.MayorsManor.com today. If you've never been there its a Kings blog with some insider type info, interviews and stuff.

For whatever its worth, I like seeing Stoll with Parse. Those two should play well together. I'm just not sure Purcell is a good fit on that line. We shall see.
