Yeah , theres NO WAY Patches got benched!! he was playing amazing out there (so were many of our younger players) and i just didnt see him once in the third to my disapointment, i hope he didnt get injured..but i also hope he didnt get benched, argh!
Exciting game, especially as the Habs were on the winning side. Mega impressed by Lats/Chips/D'Ago. They kept the Rangers bottled up in their own zone for huge chunks of the game. I have a whole new respect for those guys. Have to love the Habs chances going into 4 on 4 overtime with the likes of Plekanec, Gionta, Gomez, and Cammalleri.
did Halak play well enough to warrant the start against the Isles? Statistically he was poor, but that doesn't tell the story. I only really saw the 3rd period, and he wasn't tested very much, so I'm assuming we picked up our game as a team.
No matter how the game turned out tonight I expected Price to get the start against the Isles Tuesday. Halak didn't play great tonight, but the team played well for him and went out and fought back for a great win. Price hasn't played in a week. Habs next game is against the Isles, again. Obviously no games can be taken lightly but they are definitely one of the weaker teams in the league. Halak played well against them, this could be a sort of "measuring stick" game. Get Price back in and see how he does against a team that he watched Halak hold to 1 goal less than 7 days ago.
Nah, it is because JM isn't playing like Carbo. In the 3rd period, he used 3 lines, the first, second and third-B (RDS) lines, as Chipchura had a really good game, and Metropolit unit was -2 (not sure but that's what I heard). The only benched player tonight for his lack of effort was #46.
exciting game, kept working and fighting back from being two down. our top line was dangerous shift after shift, and so happy cammy put up some big numbers tonight.
our fourth line as well, did a very good job in the offensive zone and created alot of good chances. chips and d'ago played their best games this season. tender was more involved and i think splitting him from lapierre and 4th line duty is a wake up call for tender.
plecs had a good game, kosty and lapierre not so much. our second line still is struggling.
we have alot of giveaways and got hemmed in alot in our zone. mab had a couple big giveaways, yikes. i hope he can get into the system asap and just keep it simple. but, we know why we got him and he delivered in that regard again.
good measuring stick game. still need lots of refinement but glad to see the goals coming now.
What I liked about Cammy's goal is that before the snipe, he stickhandled it almost coast to coast. He may be good for 30-35 goals but he isn't a pure sniper, he's an all-around offensive guy. (But we knew that already.)
Buffalo - 13pts
Ottawa - 12pts
Boston - 11pts

Against us!
Cammy had 2 of his goals with Pleks on the ice - not Gomez. I really want to see lines of Gomez, Gio and AK46 - Pleks, Cammy and ?. I think that Cammy and Pleks could have great chemistry, it opens the ice for Pleks. Gomez's passing skills could really help AK46 and Gio will not let AK46 act lazy on the ice.
I have no qualms saying this is the most talented team we've had in years. Anybody disagree? I've been holding back on the claim but I really can't fathom last years team or any other in the past few years being this talented. Not just skill, but in terms of attitude, effort, etc. So happy right now.

I can't believe how calm he was after scoring that. Meanwhile I was jumping off my couch and running down the hall screaming. Whatever.

I still think our defense is weak, I know we're are missing Markov but no D's are overachieving right now to take his "role".
Also we are having lots of problems getting the puck out of the zone (except when our 1st line is there)
But yes we do have talent and are getting better game after game.
Kudos to the $murf line, Plekanec and Chipchura. Honorable mentions to "Guillaume", who did a good job tonight and "Maxime" for their efforts. The team never gave up, I am really impressed.
Gill and Bergeron? 50/50. Not amazing, but not awful either.
Spacek? I love the player, I am confident he will get better, but damn he was terrible tonight!
We brought bergeron in for 2 reasons :
- Big slapshot on the PP
- Cheap Salary
How can you complain ?
He is an amazing signing so far !
He is PPG player : 2g 1A in 3 games !
2 big slaphot goals on the PP that have completely re-vitalised our PP.
He was not brought here for his defensive ability.
For $700,000 a year, you expect more ?
