Yup Halak got the nod for tonight, it's also on Habsinsideout.com.

Metro is doubtful and AK46 has been demoted to the 4th line tonight, so we'll see Plek's, Lats and D'ags on the 2nd with Lap's onto the 3rd line as center due to the fact that Metro might not be in.

More like...we can officially CREATE a goalie controversy.

I don't see what the big deal is, right now, the Habs need wins. Halak has won the last 3 and has played well, he starts. It's not like it's the end of Price's career with the Habs, we're going to need him again this year

I was sure Martin would have came back with Price, would have been great for his confidence especially with a tough week ahead, anyways can't change much of a winning lineup.

yep its exactly what i said, price's career is over in mtl...

a number 1 goalie doesnt stay on the bench for 4 straight games, i would have understood if halak had an amazing outing saturday but he was just average, like it or not, we do not have a clear number 1 goalie anymore (which i wish we did because i want price in there to prove himself that he is capable of being that goalie)

Don't mind AK46 on the 4th line either...he usually wakes up when he gets demoted and I think Chipchura could really use a guy of his skills.

No we don't. There's nothing controversial about going with the goalie who's winning. Also has something to do with showcasing Halak I'm sure.

Sorry...that comment was more of a general comment and not necessarily directed towards you. Just that I don't see what the big deal, even if Price is the #1 goalie right now, the Habs aren't in a position to drop points here and there. They can't afford to give Price a game to get his confidence back, they have to go with the hot hand, and right now the hot hand is Jaroslav Halak.

The season is long and Price will get his chance to goal again, but right now, that's not the priority, winning is (though it always is).

Line-up for tonight

Cammalleri-Gomez-Gionta
Latendresse-Plekanec-D'Agostini
Pacioretty-Lappierre-Moen
Stewart-Chipchura-A.Kost

I guess Martin has Andrei as his new whipping boy now, let's see if Andrei responds. Expect Stewart to go after everybody looking for a fight tonight, has alot to prove.

i get it, but why not start price against the islanders to get him in a grove or something, they will have to start him someday, and i rather him start against a poor team than a team like pittsburgh or chicago after a long sequence on the bench

That's not a luxury the Habs can afford right now...Halak is hot, he's won the last 3 games, so it's quite understandable, at least to me, that he would get the start. If the Habs were 8-2, then I could understand them going with Price to try to get him in a groove, but with them being .500 right now, the priority is winning and Halak is the one who has won the last 3 games.

Who really cares who is #1, right now, Price will get his chance again

he "dont touch a winning lineup" dosent hold too much water when at the beginning of the season Martin annointed Price his Starter.

What happened when Price won 2 games on his own and they put Halak in? Where was the winning lineup mantra then?

11 games in, Price has 6 starts, Halak 5.

I just find it a bit shocking.

As long as we're winning, I don't care about who gets the start.

They should both play 40ish games and take the better one in the playoffs.
