The Canucks want YOUR 3rd line center

With Henrik Sedin and Ryan Kesler cementing themselves as #1 and #2 centers, our only apparent weakness is at the 3rd line C spot, where Wellwood has failed to deliver. We're looking for an effective checker who can maybe pot 10-15 goals and be a plus player. Preferably an upcoming UFA as we have Hodgson hopefully coming in next year to take that spot. Ideally someone like a John Madden/Sami Pahlsson lite.

Lets hear some offers.

Right now I like our lines with Burrows-Bolduc-Bernier just need to give Bolduc some more games to get comfortable (and for Burrows to remember he is a feisty grinder not a pure goal scorer)

Bolduc is not a 3rd line C on a SC contender. Sorry. Yelle may work, but I'm looking for someone with a bit more offensive upside.

Yes because Bolduc being on the 3rd line of any team automatically rights off any teams chances at Cup...

Bolduc is a big physical grinder (which our team desperately needs more of) he may not have 20 Goal potential but I bet if you give him a chance he'll be able to pop in a few big goals.

Sharks have a couple that could be available.

Mitchell (require a really good offer)
Couture (available)
Vesce

I honestly doubt Mitchell is available, but you never know, and we do have Malhotra already so he's going to have to shift to wing as is.

However, with most healthy, this would be a decent lineup for the stretch run + playoffs.

Sedin-Sedin-Samuelsson
Grabner-Kesler-Raymond
Burrows-Stajan-Bernier (BSB...backstreet boys?)
Hordichuk/Rypien-Johnson/Bolduc-Hansen

I agree with everyone on the Nucks board that says someone like Jeff Halpern would be ideal, but Stajan would be alright too. Not sure about Yelle, if management sees him as a upgrade on Johnson, and Bolduc as a mainstay on that Killer B's line, then I guess so.
Why are people so eager to break up the Sedin-Burrows line? That line has been dynamite since it was put together, but I guess people don't like a good thing when they see it?

With respect to the third line, I would have it as Samuelsson-C-Bernier.

Looking at pending UFA's who would be a fit for that spot, I'm thinking Matthew Lombardi from Phoenix. I don't know if they would be interested in moving him though, or how he fits into their long-term plans; however, should they fall out of the race (it's still early, but c'mon...it's Phoenix) he's a guy I would target.

Our team is not a Stanley Cup contender this season. Too many new players fitting in to become a team, too many major injuries and too many major distractions (Olympics).

Equally, there is no great need to spend assets just to fill in a 3rd line centre for part of this season. Injuries cause line juggling which delays players gelling into their assignments to form lines required to meet team needs. Wellwood will be back soon and he hasn't been that line's problem. Constantly changing linemates due to injury juggling has been his problem. Next season we will have possibly two additional centres in Hodgson and Scheoeder to also fit in.

Last we have to give Boldoc a chance. He may not be able to be a solid NHL player, but he hasn't proven he's not. Burrows looked like he was a career AHLer when he broke in first too.

Yeah, I thought you were insane for a second there. Just goes to show the importance of the

Options that I like so far are Kelly, Yelle and Stajan (for the right price).

You can have Chris Kelly for an AHL defenseman. He's one of the better 3rd line Cs in the game.
