Good game by the supporting cast!!!!!

what a freakin play and pass by gangsta plekz!

nice to see we can win with no goal support from the top line.

still concerning that it takes OT to win. maybe we should try to force more coinciding miniors to play more 4 on 4 hockey during regulation.

MAB had 2 very solid plays on 2 separate 2 on 1s.

halak had a great 1st period. by far his best performance.

now we go on the road against an elite team. time to see how good we really are.

Anyone else feel a bit nervous that these OT wins might come back and haunt us in the end? I mean sure we are getting the upper hand, but it is always tight in the standings at the end of the year, and our inability to beat people in regulation is giving them the point that makes it that much closer when all is said and done.

Anyways, glad to see another 2 points on the board for the Canadiens.
Not too worried about the point we gave the Isles, Leafs & Rangers. The Rangers will make the play-offs anyhow and the Leafs & Isles won't so it doesn't matter.

Atlanta & Buffalo we'll be fighting a play-off spot for but we also still have lots of games left against both so no worries at this time. Besides as long as we get two and they only get one, we're still ahead.

Yeah, the team is playing well right now, no need to make any crazy moves. Give him some time. I mean look at Chips now, and even Dag's is looking good.

He didn't really break them up. He just shot the puck forward. Benoit said he had a good first pass, but there was no intended pass there. And the first odd man rush he broke up was a pass on the opposing players stick.

I'm satisfied with his play, but those two plays were not epic

good post.

and i dont know what the record is if there is one, but yeah the oilers and those 13 shootouts was crazy, i remeber watching sportscenter and EVERY other day it was "you guess it, oilers in a shootout"

again, not sure what the record is, but it cant beat our 10 OT wins out of 16 in the 93 playoffs

If Prendergast was there to scout AK he has to be disappointed, if he was there to see Chipchura or Lapierre he has to be very happy.

What are you even talking about? Both times he prevented the cross ice pass from happening that could of been a goal both times.

OT:

08/09 NJD 15-4
07/08 EDM 19-6
06/07 MIN 17-8, VAN 17-7
05/06 DAL 15-6
03/04 STL 11-2-11
02/03 NJD 8-6-10
01/02 DET 10-4-10
00/01 DET 10-4-9
99/00 CGY 11-5-10
98/99 PIT 7-1-14
97/98 DAL 5-1-11

Highly doubt anything pre Shootout will touch 19-6 by the Oilers, so that looks like your record.

That's one of those records that may never be beaten.

I'm liking how the team is coming together! Hopefully we can start winning some of these games in regulation lol

What does that make? Like 5-0 after regulation? Insane how clutch this group is. 4 in a row is crazy, playing a game over .500 without Markov just as insane.

- Halak is ridiculous. Clearly a # 1 goalie. Price better step up, the goalie battle will be gruesome. It's on now.

- Akost is struggling but I liked how the coach brought him back after a horrific yet comical sequence, fanning on the puck 3 times in a row. That's telling the kid to make up for that one. He needs more drive though, zero acceleration and hustle. I still have about 6 weeks of patience in me. I hope he'd have step it up by then.

- This was a good game for the supporting cast. Gill, Chipper, Moen, Metro, D'ago, Bergy all good games. The top line was relatively quiet. The rest gave a solid effort. Anybody notice Patches in the 3rd?
