Plekanec's linemates

Who should Plekanec play with? He has 10 points, but I think 4 came on the PP, and the last two were passes to Cammalleri, who isn't even one of his regular wingers (which aren't helping him much atm).

Lapierre is not a 2nd line winger, and obviously is not a scorer, so who should replace him on the 2nd line? I'm thinking:

Kostitsyn - Plekanec - D'Agostini

Actually, the optimal setting would be Lats and Kosty.
However, Kosty is stone cold, and Lats is closer to a power jambon than to a power forward this year so far.

I will add that he is a Toupie Ham, not an Old Fashion one

PS: Toupie ham is a lesser quality than Old Fashion/Black Forest because the quantity of juices in toupie is far greater than the quantity of meat.

Nothing, except acting like a kindergarden child

The thing is, Martin tried a lot of players at LW/RW witk Andrei and Pleks. Neither of D'agostini nor Latendresse, D'agostini and MaxPac had succes.

Gainey or Martin can talk and demand Sergei to back up his words and shake up his brother. Before even thinking about trading either Andrei or Sergei, Martin has to give them a shot together 4 or 5 games.

The problem by doing that is that D'agostini, Latendresse, Lapierre and Max Pac will maybe ask themselve : why didn't we get a 4 or 5 game shot at that spot? Well, the combination that I've did with a defensive line of Moen, Metro and Laps and a good kid-energy line of Latendresse - Chipchura - D'agostini are working quite well.

It's not a question of what did Sergei has done this year, it's what he can do. If he can't, let's move on.

Is it my imagination, or.......does Pleks play best when not playing with Andre Kostitsyn?

Remind me of how many goals and assists has so far this season. Isn't he up there with Kopitar, Ovechkin, and Joe Thornton?

Well, they can play well together. They've shown some flashes 2 years ago and last year when Kovalev was «suspended».

But Andrei lost all his confidence, while Pleks is rejuvenated.

And you think that unless it changes JM would play him on the 2nd line ?

Lang is gone... and unless I'm wrong this topic is NOT about trying to find a C for the bros... but rather trying to find decent wingers to Plekanec...

Nothing attitude wise. He's played decently in AHL.

It would simply increase our options. We're still looking for a solid 2nd line. That means no player has really stepped up..Latendresse, D'Ago and MaxPac are all playing better but none are really producing.
A.Kost isn't either, but he's the most skilled so obviously you want him to get going. So he stays on 2nd.
Now, if the lack of scoring persists with the other players then I don't see how long we can turn face to Sergei.
Regardless of how bad his attitude has been, he's more talented than the guys fighting over that top6 spot.

Getting a solid 2nd line is a necessity not a luxury. If the players in place can't do it, we'll need to find another solution and Sergei might just be that.

At some point you're gonna have to ask yourself, would you prefer have a good 2nd line with Sergei on the team or a low productive 2nd line with no Sergei?

If we can have a top6 producing without Sergei then great, but it hasn't been the case so far.

Sergei is injured at the time, so can't do much about that for now.

It's not an individual thing.

It's about having a productive top6. We know who the top4 players are, now 2 others need to step up and nobody has done that yet.

No. I'm trying to explain that the faith of Sergei is maybe in the hands of «the case of the second line», and not because of his acting. I'm not excusing Sergei by the way.

2 facts :
A) Nobody seized the opportunity. And, the team needs secondary scoring. Right now, we can say that the combination of Halak, the PP and the play and hustle of the best offensive players, except Andrei, gave Martin 4 straight wins. But someday, Martin will need a steady second line. As of right now, the line of Latendresse, Chipchura and D'agostini is doing great.

B) Sergei wanted to be part of the team. He possibly threatened the organisation to be traded or that he'll be going to Russia. We all know that. Now, that Andrei is struggling, I think that the best time to recall Sergei is right now. He can be the problem solver of the second line. He maybe can help his brother. Martin has to give it a try BEFORE giving up on the bros. And I think the time is now. It's time for him to back up his words

Exactly great lineup! or alternatively we could send Stewart down and hope he clears waivers, which I think likely.
