Hopefully Betts and Parent are fully healed before they return. Good to see they're practising faceoffs, and I like the word "again" in there.

But reading that Cote is replacing Gagne in the lineup is about as depressing as it gets.
Yeah, but it's not like Gagne was really playing much higher than Cote's level anyway because of the injury.

Gags actually looked very good in the Florida game. His line with Giroux and Lappy had some great shifts in the Florida zone. He looked like he was getting back to his usual self, but then in the first two periods of the San Jose game, he looked slow and hesitant. Let's just hope his injury does not linger all year because he is a game-breaker when healthy.

I think the Flyers take this one. We have enough offensive depth to cover Gagne's loss and our fourth-line guys have been great. I think the key to the game will be Emery's play because we know Washington will be throwing a ton of shots his way.

Yup, Cote's gonna replace Gags on the 1st PP unit and see as much ice time as Simon would, yup!

Pretty sure Riley won't see more than just a couple of minutes ice time, barely any in the 3rd.

Really sure Riley will try to find someone for a dance, Erskine?

Let's go Flyers!!

I have 3 midterms this semester. All 3 come on days after Flyers games. Wtf.

After skipping studying last game (Sharks), I think I'm going to miss this one. Maybe I'll just have the audio so I can catch the replays when people score.

Per Bill Meltzer

JVR - Carter - Briere
Hartnell - Richards - Pyorala
Carcillo - Giroux - Asham
Cote - Powe - Laperriere

Carle - Pronger
Coburn - Timonen
Tollefsen - Syvret

Emery
[Boucher]

I have a bad feeling about this one.

He's on record as saying he's called up and pledged money to a radio station on the condition that they stop playing STH.

Until we got their new album a few weeks ago in the station, I was completely unaware that Pearl Jam wasn't around. Not that I'm NOT a fan, just haven't listened to them since early in the Riot Act era.

Can you start writing the Band and Song titles under the Youtube vid? Youtube doesn't load at work, blocked, and I'm always curious to see what music you pick for each game.

Thanks!
Yes, not a problem in most instances but as Opus said the maximum character for a post is passed in some GDTs so editing is involved on the lengthier GDTS (like the Islanders, Leafs and Bruins, for instance).

If OV gets any ice time while that 4th line is out there, we are in serious trouble.

LOL - I didn't mean to infer that Cote would be on the top line or first unit PP. It was more an observation that there is no one able to step in and play the top 2 lines.

The first line looks good. The second line has possibilities. The third line is putrid and the 4th line is what it is.

Tonight could be an adventure, at best. Pronger will earn his contract in games like these.

Robert the not so Great!

STH is a classic, everyone loves it. It must be hard for musicians to move on after their biggest hit, but he was in LED ZEPPELIN!!!!! Almost all their songs are hits!!!!!!!!! Go **** yourself Rob, and enjoy life.

He changed his tune over the years. Once said he would never play it again and then he did though he altered the dynamics of the song. He praised Kashmir and others as the ultimate Zepp track(s). Plant and Bonham were incredibly close friends. I wouldn't be shocked if Plant's opinion had something to do with Stairway not being a powerful drum song.

Erskine has a bruised hand and might not be in the lineup.

Don't ask questions.

Some might dare to wonder why we're playing Giroux with Asham and Carcillo, but don't worry about it.

I love Kashmir, but it's a tad repetitive for me to count it as my favorite Zepp track. STH is great too, but I hate it for the same reason I hate Crosby; I just hear it too often. I still like the funk beat of Trample Underfoot or the frenetic energy and ridiculous lyrics in Immigrant Song.

Great job, MSE.

Even without Gagne and Parent and Giroux playing with Carcillo and Asham, I inexplicably feel quite confident about today's game.... especially since the Flyers have rarely played well when on national television in Canada the past few seasons.
