Gagne needing surgery = Gagne on LTIR

That means the Flyers have $7mill capspace.

Why WOULDN'T they make a move?

Exactly. It shows that we cant beat a good team. We are made this year to win. If we go lose back to back games against good teams, and then Gagne is out, you dont think something is going to happen? We were losing with a top 6 guy in, then we lose him. Homer will make a move to try to get this team to beat good teams.

Oh and I never did say trade. When I posted that, I said a move, as in maybe bringing up Maroon or someone also. A trade would be alittle tricky for our defense is without Parent and are playing with 6/7 guys on the 5/6 pairing already (unless Bourden/Marshall/whoever are ready). Inno, I was just stating I think there will be some roster change if we lose tonight. We need to beat the big teams.

You need to trade someone to get someone. What are the Flyers going to trade away to land a player to replace Gagne?... and what do the Flyers do when Gagne is ready to come back into the line-up? Should they **** everything up like last season? Or should they take the Gagne injury bump and adjust like every other team that's experiencing an injury is right now?

Panic moves rarely work out in the long term.

It's one game. If they lose a tight game 3-2, why would they make a move? They will have lost on the road against a good team; watch the film, adjust and beat 'em next time.

They already have a win against these guys; if they lose tonight, the season series is 1-1 with the home team winning both games... probably exactly as expected.

Hell, I don't even think they'll lose tonight.

If they lose a 3-2 game and its a hard fought one (not like how they played last game) I wouldnt mind it. It would show they have the right mind set and everything is good. If we lose like 4-1 or 3-0, then we need to do something.

I could see a minor roster move, like bringing a forward up from the Phantoms....

Aside from the Panthers, the Flyers have played only 'big teams' and their record is 4-2-1. That's pretty good, even if you want to make excuses for teams like Boston who are battling injuries.

November is the key month to show how the team has come together. Of their games in November, only 3 are against playoff teams from last season. If they can't come out of that month well above .500, heads should roll.

Those aren't just excuses. They're legitimate 'excuses' if you must use that word. If we were missing our entire top line from last year, our best shootout player, were playing our backup and made no moves to replace those players that we lost (yes, Knuble was on our top line last year, but we replaced him) then I would thoroughly expect a healthy Bruins team to beat us in regulation.

I find Ovechkin far more engaging than a lot of english speaking players. His english is a heck of a lot better than it was, and I'd sooner see him interviewed than listen to a lot of cliches and boring stuff.

Like Jones just said -- look for JVR to step up and fill in for Gagne.

Makes sense to me.

True. And it's not like Gagne has been a real presence out there so far this season.... so hopefully he won't be missed as much as he might have other years.
