Roberto Luongo is injured!!

According to The Province, Luongo got hurt in last night's game against Detroit.

The injuries just keep getting nuttier and nuttier.

Luongo Injured: To Miss Games

Quote:
The Vancouver Canucks will be without their best player, goaltender Roberto Luongo, for an undetermined number of games after he suffered an undisclosed injury during Tuesday night's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

It has gotta be his right shoulder. I think it was during the third last night Holmstrom fell into him against the net and you could see him in lots of pain.

Tell me about it! I haven't been that pissed at reffing in a LONG time.

Seriously, a big FU to the refs last night. Garbage!

If Luongo is indeed injured then the Canucks can say goodbye to their season. End of story.

Yup. It's been happening way to much lately and it's getting worse. I was watching a Rags game the other day and Lundqvist was getting crashed time after time. Kipper has been getting a lot of it to this season and a few times I thought he was injured right after getting clobbered.

Sounds like a way to let him rest and not lose face?? I didn't watch the game so have absolutely no clue if he was hurt or not. Figured that is what they were doing with Demitra.

Just like the 5-3 call to allow the Canuck to tie the game. But you were OKAY with that call?

Right, because everything is just fine when your star goalie goes down.

This bandwagon stuff is getting to be too much. You can't say one little thing wrong without being accused of jumping off the bandwagon.

there was a push both times, and both times the detroit player used it as an excuse to dramatize a fall and propel themselves forcefully into the goaltender.

Luongo finished the game so it can't be that bad.

Aww, some guy nudged me in the crease. I suppose I should have to sit a few games then.

Bertuzzi won't be missing any games because of it. IF the injury indeed has something to do with Bertuzzi squeezing Luongo's arm and shoulder against the goal post, Luongo will miss time.

Let's see, which is worse?

seems that one or two canuck players are going down every game to injuries.

just wait until H1N1 hits... then they'll become the Vancouver Moose.

And you're OKAY with blow up to get the 5-3 to tie the game. The Canuck player felt Stuart touch him in the back fell like he was blown up.

Probably Alexander Edler's conscience right now...

Edler was the cause of the shoulder injury not Bertuzzi!

am i taking crazy pills?

are we really pretending that a major part of Detroit's offence isn't to crash the crease as much as possible?

i'm not critcizing the wings, they are doing as much as they can get away with and they are obviously very successful... but lets be honest here this is not incidental goalie contact -- this has been a DRW staple for years and years.

lets not act here like red wing players are just innocent bystanders that happen to be pushed into goalies a lot.
