Montreal should follow the Pens' model: suck, I mean really suck, for 4 or 5 years, pick a couple of superstars and a few stars and we're set for the next 10-15 years. The Lighting is doing that now.

That strategy requires a fair bit of luck though. You pick first overall, you can hope to get Crosby, but you could end up with Hamrlik or -- god forbid -- Daigle.
