well, if we just add a #5 or #6 guy... we'd have 2 scoring line instead of one.

don't go thinking Plekanec will keep the pace the whole season being all alone on his line. And it isnt a jab at Plekanec, the guy's doing great, but very few players in this league are good enough to be "a one man line".

Exactly. The top line is fine but Plekanec desperately needs someone to play with and Lapierre is not the answer. And looking at the roster and the farm...I don't see an answer there either. Of course if AK would get his head out of his ass that would help.

-comes down to a a 2nd/3rd liner with size and scoring ability, not a Lappierre.
-young mobile d with size
-a 6th d-man with size who can drop em (Obyrne type)
-a veteran 3rd line winger with edge, kinda like a Draper style player
-a scoring winger with size who can play in the top 3 or 6 on any given night
-a 4th line agitator who can chirp on the ice, but drops the gloves for team mates.

So in an ideal world:

Scoring winger with size-Gomez-Gionta
Cammo-center with size/scoring punch-Kosty
Pax-Plekanec-veteran guy
Moen-Lapierre-guy who plays and wants to fight
Metro extra

Markov-Spacek
young mobile d-hammer
Mara-Obyrne
Gill

end rant

Based on most of the replies, looks like they're missing one powerful winger, another top 6 forward.. --> Chris Higgins? His heart is probably still in Montreal... I heard he's purposely stinking it up in New York and getting on Tortorella's nerves, so the Habs can take him back for cheap. He'll fill and fix a hole in this team, you'll have the CAT line as the 2nd line! No doubt, Higgins is the missing piece!
