i would take him back. we need him. however, i believe gainey got rid of him on purpous. for the same reason he was stripped of the A... whatever that reason was.

Ah, the rise and fall of Chris Higgins.

Honestly, if he keeps this up and only finishes the season with 20 or so points..I can't really see there being much of a demand for him next summer.

I'd bring him back for under a million on a 1 year deal. Get his career back on track.

We all know he's capable of putting the puck in the net despite his poor play as of late. The Habs could trade a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him and take him off NYR's hands - all of a sudden we look like big winners in the Gomez trade. He would add some depth on our 2nd line and it would be an upgrade on A. Kost.

This is just a humble proposal...
One of the reasons he was moved is because he was a bad example on the young players, I don't see Gainey running to the Rangers for him.

I can see a team like Toronto or smaller market taking a small gamble, but I can't see the Rangers giving up that quick after a trade.

I don't know why everyone is so down on Higgins, I thought he was a pretty good player. Great on the third line and descent on the second line.

I clearly must be wrong though, cause I don't think anyone here shares that opinion. I guess I don't know what I see in him.

Yeah....something must be wrong away from the rink. Based on his career curve early on, this guy should be potting 30-40 goals in a leadership role....something is not right for sure. I thought he'd be a star player for sure based on his early progression.

Exactly the incapability of scoring goals and they are good at it lol

Jokes aside I don't think we need Higgins back

Why not give the pick for someone else? Higgins was my favorite player, but he is nowhere near what he used to be... We cleaned the house, no point in bringing back what we threw away. Why put an old lamp in the living room to complement our new furniture?

If the Chris Higgins of 06-07 want to come back, I want him !

But the new one....not so sure.

A Higgins - Metropolit - Moen line would be awesome on #3 or even a Higgins - Plekanec - Cammalleri on the second.

However, I don't see anything the Canadiens have to get him or any desire for them to get him back if they traded him in July.

There are other wingers in the league... We can get a pretty good player for a second...

The only way that I would agree on taking Higgins back right now is if the Rangers take Laraque witch they won't cause they have Brashear

I'm with you. He'd be an upgrade on A. Kost, Patches, D'Ago, and Latendresse to name a few but nobody else seems to think so. I think he would add some scoring depth which the Habs seem to lack right now. Maybe their not watching the same games we are.

You say why not him, I say why not somebody else... We have enough enigmatic players. I'd trade for a winger but someone whom we know what we get from (is that even a correct sentence??? lolol). Anyways, Gainey did trade him for a reason (wich we can only speculate about) so getting him back makes no sense.

My humble opinion.

Cap... anybody remember it? hehe

I would bring him back, though, for a 3rd round pick. Put him on the second line and return Pac to Hamilton (although, I have no problem with him in the NHL) Higgins may be struggling but he is a notorious slow starter and has scored well so far at the NHL level.

Does nobody remember how Higgings has always been? Even in the AHL, he'd miss chances, hit posts and then *click* he'd end on a tear... short memories around here.

So basically... every team got rid of a main problem player

(higgins) <<<<<< (gomez)

A main bust type prospect

(mcdonagh) << (pyatt) so far.. im not reading how Mc'D is tearing it up with the Rangers farm team yet

then some prospects that are 1 in a million shots to make it to the NHL such as BUSTO and VALENTENKO

so it seems like a whole bunch of garbage for more garbage well who made more use of their garbage now????

WHO WOULD HAVE DREAMT HIGGINS WOULD LAND US SCOTTY FREAKING GOMEZ

Higgins was apparently a "throw-in" to the deal. The deal was centered around McDonaugh.

Hard to believe since they gave him 2+ million and they didn't want to do the same for Zherdev and didn't want to pay to much for Dubinsky. They should have invested in Zherdev and got rid of Higgins if that was the case

Remember how everyone was saying Michael Ryder was done and he was garbage after his 12 goal season... Same thing with Ribeiro but they're doing pretty well right now. I think Higgins could excel under a puck-possession coach like Jacques Martin.

I rather have 1 more year of Benoit Brunet on RDS than 1 more year of Higgins

if we're giving up on Chipchura I'd rather deal him for a draft pick than somebody who we are unlikely to retain at the end of the year.
